Lowest AttendanceALAVES vs LEVANTE – 12,176

The Seville derby was the biggest attraction this weekend in LaLiga with the highest attendance on matchday 13 with over 50,000 packed into the Benito Villamarin. Sevilla did a pretty good job of silencing the vast majority though with Guido Rodriguez’s red card a pivotal moment in the game. The visitors were totally dominant on the ball after that with the highest possession and passing accuracy stats of any team this weekend and they won the game thanks to a screamer from Marcos Acuña and an unfortunate Hector Bellerin own goal.

Despite the six-goal thrillers in Vigo and Valencia, the Madrid derby between Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano on Saturday evening produced some of the clearest goalscoring opportunities. Both sides could have scored more with Los Blancos registering the highest xG of the weekend while Rayo had the most shots with 19 attempts on Thibaut Courtois’ goal.

The most wasteful team in front of goal though was Granada. They were very competitive at the RCDE Stadium but slumped to a 2-0 defeat despite creating 2.07 xG.

Most Successful TacklesALEX FERNANDEZ (Cadiz) – 7
Most InterceptionsNACHO VIDAL (Osasuna) – 6

The number of dribbles completed by Barcelona midfielders Frenkie de Jong and Nico Gonzalez immediately stand out in this week’s individual stats. No other player in LaLiga completed more than 5 dribbles so it was a clear tactic from Barcelona’s interim boss Sergi Barjuán to try and exploit the flaws in Celta’s distinctive 4-1-3-2 system and for 45 minutes at least it worked. Celta came roaring back in the Second Half though with Iago Aspas scoring a brace and completing five key passes in the match, a joint matchday high along with Espanyol’s Sergi Darder.

Defensively, we saw impressive numbers from Cadiz’s Alex Fernandez who won the most tackles of any player on matchday 13 with 7 in his team’s surprise 1-0 win in Bilbao. Nacho Vidal registered the most interceptions but his efforts went unrewarded as Osasuna lost 2-0 at home to leaders Real Sociedad.

Sorare LaLiga Fantasy Team of the Week

It was a good weekend for the full-backs who entirely make up the back four with 86+ scores from Marcos Acuña, Pablo Maffeo, Alfonso Espino and Adria Pedrosa. The latter was one of three Espanyol players to make the best XI with keeper Diego Lopez and midfielder Sergi Darder also featuring.

Up front, there was no place for 85th minute substitute Hugo Duro despite his remarkable late cameo in the form of a Stoppage Time brace salvaging a draw for Valencia against Atletico Madrid. Iago Aspas, Joselu and Lucas Boye also all scored twice this weekend and got the nod in attack.

Sorare Player of the Week: Toni Kroos (98)

Toni Kroos posted his 4th straight 70+ score with a fine display for Real Madrid against Rayo Vallecano making him the Sorare LaLiga player of the week for matchday 13.

Sorare is a Fantasy Football platform with one of the most advanced scoring matrices. All players are scored from 0-100 based on performance. You can read our latest Sorare content here to find out more about it.
