Predicted lineups are normally added ahead of each matchday, typically on a Thursday before regular weekends, and on Mondays when there is extensive midweek action. We consider recent selections, injuries, suspensions, transfers and likely squad rotation when putting together each XI.

How we predict La Liga lineups
Our predicted lineups are based on all the latest available information ahead of each match. This can vary from club to club, with some more open about injuries than others. We look at recent starting XIs, injuries and suspensions, player fitness, press conference comments and transfer activity.
Rotation is also a major consideration whenever there are midweek fixtures in Europe, the Copa del Rey or La Liga. In the 2026/27 season, eight Spanish clubs will be involved in UEFA competitions. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Real Betis are in the Champions League. Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad will play in the Europa League, while Getafe are Spain’s Conference League representatives.
Predicting lineups for those clubs is often more challenging, with regular rotation expected during busier periods of the season. Figuring out which players will come into the side and who will drop out for individual games is not an easy task. The lineups on this page should therefore be treated as projections rather than confirmed starting XIs.
