Football Index Tips for 2019 – Best Players in La Liga

Football Index Tips for 2019 – Best Players in La Liga

As you may have read, La Liga Expert started a Football Index Portfolio earlier in the month and in this post we will explain some of the reasoning behind the Spanish-based players we chose. There will also be a few other Football Index tips with players we expect to be big in 2019 and beyond

To be clear, we don’t claim to be the definitive voice of knowledge on the platform or anything like that. Despite reading up on it fairly extensively, these tips are primarily based on our knowledge of La Liga not years of experience of trading on Football Index. They are players we think are currently undervalued or have the potential to really develop over the coming years, potentially earning moves to bigger clubs.

Football Index Tips – Best La Liga Goalkeepers

Yassine Bounou

Current Ranking – 2371 (Squad Player)
Current Price – £0.38
Age – 27
Club – Girona
WhoScored Rating 2018/19 La Liga Season So Far – 6.97

Goalkeepers don’t tend to feature too heavily on the platform so we’ve only picked one in our initial portfolio and that’s Girona’s Yassine Bounou. Apart from the rockstar name (he prefers the spelling Bono), he has also been putting in some rockstar performances in La Liga this term. He produced some extraordinary saves as an injury-ravaged Girona won at Valencia in November having done something similar in a 0-0 draw at Sociedad weeks earlier. At 27, he is still young for a keeper and at 6 Foot 4 Inches tall, he is both a commanding keeper and excellent shop-stopper. We are banking on Bono’s price going to a place called vertigo in the not too distant future.

Football Index Experiment – Starting Portfolio

Football Index Experiment – Starting Portfolio

We’ve started 2019 with a bit of a new project as we look to turn La Liga knowledge into cash on Football Index. Scroll down for our starting £500 portfolio and also a football index code, which will allow you to get started in what is initially a risk-free setting. It is though also worth reading up and truly understanding the platform before you start making larger investments and this page should help with that.

What is Football Index?

Football Index has been described as a mixture of fantasy football and sports betting. While there is some truth to that, we prefer the description that you will find on the site itself. Football Index is essentially ‘the football stockmarket’, at least in the countries where they have a licence to operate. Currently you can use the platform in the UK, Ireland, Sweden and Canada but we anticipate many more countries will be added to that list soon.

Football Index Player List

Instead of betting on the outcome of matches, you are investing in players with a wide range to choose from. Almost every player in Europe’s top five leagues can be found with 2940 in total at the time of writing and more coming soon via Football Index’s IPO’s (Initial Player Offerings). Essentially you buy shares AKA ‘futures’ in players in the belief that their value will rise with time, hopefully enabling you to sell them on for a profit.

Is it really Gambling or Investing?

There is still an extent of gambling and risk, as there is with any form of investment but unlike regular football bets, you cannot really lose your stake unless the player retires and is withdrawn from the platform altogether (or you fail to sell your shares within the maximum 3 year time-frame). Their value may be increase or decrease with time but almost every player on the game has increased in value over the past two years, due to more and more people investing in the market as a whole.

La Liga Match Day 17 Review – Late Goals add to the Tension at the Bottom

La Liga Match Day 17 Review – Late Goals add to the Tension at the Bottom

The interesting action this weekend was mostly at the bottom rather than the top of La Liga. Barcelona claimed an utterly routine 2-0 win over Celta Vigo while Atletico Madrid put in a typically efficient performance to see off Espanyol 1-0 on a weekend when Real Madrid were crowned FIFA Club World Cup winners yet again. However there was plenty of late drama at the other end and some very significant goals in the scrap for survival. Here was the best of the action on match-day 17 in the 2018/19 Spanish Primera Division:

La Liga Match Day 17 Results, Expected Goals & Highlights

Friday 21st December 2018

Girona 1-1 Getafe (xG 1.31-0.82)

Real Sociedad 0-1 Alaves (xG 0.78-0.65)

Saturday 22nd December 2018

Real Betis 1-1 Eibar (xG 0.8-2.27)

Atletico Madrid 1-0 Espanyol (xG 1.09-1.13)

Barcelona 2-0 Celta Vigo (xG 1.0-0.63)

Athletic Bilbao 1-1 Real Valladolid (xG 1.3-0.87)

Sunday 23rd December 2018

Valencia 2-1 Huesca (xG 2.84-1.47)

Leganes 1-1 Sevilla (xG & Highlights to be added)

Rayo Vallecano 2-1 Levante (xG & Highlights to be added)

La Liga Match Day 14 Review – An Ordinary Weekend in an Extraordinary Season

La Liga was back with what in many ways was the most ordinary weekend of the season so far. Barcelona and Real Madrid both won, relatively comfortably at home. Atleti dropped points away, which sadly for them is also becoming the norm. Leganes vs Alaves

Friday 23rd November 2018, 21:00

Estadio Municipal de Butarque, Leganes

Spain boasts some spectacularly set football stadiums. The best include Depor’s Riazor, located practically on the beach in La Coruña and Athletic’s imposing San Mames in the heart of Bilbao’s revitalised centre within walking distance of the iconic Guggenheim Museum. However it’s fairly safe to say that the home of Club Deportivo Leganés doesn’t quite fall into the same category.

La Liga Match Day 13 Review – Eibar crush Real Madrid & Barca strike late to deny Atleti

La Liga bunched together even further this weekend with few sides at the top end enjoying successful weekends as some of the underachieving teams made ground. Top six sides Alaves, Real Madrid, Espanyol, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona all failed to win as Sevilla took full advantage, admittedly with a few nervy moments of their own, to take top spot after their 1-0 win against Valladolid. Here are the goals, headlines and stats from week 13 in La Liga 2018/19:

La Liga Match Day 13 Results, Expected Goals & Highlights
