Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid Preview
The biggest game in this final part of the season in LaLiga takes place at Camp Nou on Tuesday night as Barcelona play host to Atletico Madrid. Barça’s title hopes are fading with the momentum clearly with Real Madrid right now but victory here for Quique Setien’s side would see them return to the top and would just add a bit more pressure on Los Blancos who also have a couple of tricky games coming up.
Overall though, these are worrying times for Barcelona. They look to have some pretty serious problems on and off the pitch. Luis Suarez’s brace in Vigo on Saturday wasn’t enough for victory as Barça dropped points on the road for the 10th time this season. In a different year, they’d already be out of the title race but to give the Catalans some credit, they have still been almost perfect at home with just two points dropped all season at Camp Nou.
Atleti’s return of 23 points from 16 away matches is actually identical to that of Barcelona. They were struggling badly for goals earlier in the season but things have picked up since the restart and Atleti take confidence into this game having won their last four matches. That includes two away victories and the way Barcelona are playing, this may be their best chance in a long time, to finally pick up that elusive win at Camp Nou.
All eyes will be on Antoine Griezmann here as he lines up against his former club under huge pressure to prove his worth to this Barça side. What had already been a difficult first season for the Frenchman has taken a turn for the worse since the resumption with his performances poor and Setien opting to leave him out in key away games against Sevilla and Celta.
Barcelona will be able to name a stronger eleven here than they could in Vigo with Sergio Busquets available again but Frenkie de Jong is still an injury absentee. Juventus-bound Arthur should take his place on the bench.
Atleti meanwhile will have to manage without both Koke and Stefan Savic who are suspended for this one.

Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid Predictions
Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw
This does not feel like a Barcelona side that is in a good place right now. Despite their excellent home record, they were a bit fortunate to beat Athletic Club in their last outing at Camp Nou and it will be tougher against an in-form Atletico Madrid. The visitors look capable of doing their city rivals a huge favour by leaving Barcelona with a point.
