DATE/TIME – Saturday 13th April 2019, 16:15 (Spanish Time)

STADIUM – El Alcoraz

COMPETITION – La Liga

#HuescaBarça

Huesca fans may have some mixed feelings heading into this game. There will be a tinge of disappointment that Barcelona’s expected heavy rotation will starve them of what might be the only chance to see Barça’s current stars grace the pitch El Alcoraz. However it does also raise the possibility of an upset with Huesca already needing something miraculous in their hunt for safety.

The Aragonese minnows are now 6 points shy of the drop heading into this one. However it’s not completely impossible that they can take the fight until perhaps even the final day considering they are looking more impressive than the likes of Valladolid right now. With Enric Gallego leading the line well and Chimy Avila also having an impressive season, they do carry a goal threat. They will have bad memories of this fixture though, having lost 8-2 at Camp Nou earlier this term.

Barcelona unquestionably will be thinking about their Champions League Quarter-Final 2nd Leg against Manchester United on Tuesday. They are missing Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez to suspension anyway, arguably their two most important players besides Leo Messi, who himself is carrying a knock and may not be risked even if declared fit. Barça are 11 points clear of Atleti following their victory last weekend and in truth they can afford to take their foot off the gas now in La Liga and concentrate on Europe.

That certainly offers Huesca a sniff here. The minnows have really started to throw caution to the wind and it’ll be interesting to see how they approach this one given the mental scars that may exist following the Second Half capitulation in Barcelona earlier this term.

Huesca vs Barcelona Predictions

Score Prediction: 3-3 Draw

Betting Tip: Over 3.5 Goals @ 2.5 with Spin Palace Sports (18+)

Barcelona have tended to run into trouble whenever they’ve rotated this term. Samuel Umtiti looked nowhere near match fit in the recent 4-4 draw with Villarreal and there will certainly be chances for a Huesca side that have scored more league goals than Valencia this term. However the likes of Malcom and Coutinho will be itching to put in a performance and we should see chances at the other end too so this could be another cracker.

Huesca vs Barcelona H2H

  • Last 3 meetings: 3 Barcelona Wins.
  • Barcelona won the reverse fixture 8-2.
  • They’ve never previously met in the league in Huesca.
  • The sides also met in the Copa del Rey in 2014 with Barça 12-2 aggregate winners.

One to Watch – Enric Gallego

Enric Gallego only made his professional debut at the age of 31. On Saturday he will face his hometown club in a league fixture, something he simply couldn’t even have dreamed of even 12 months ago when he was playing in the Segunda B.
