Osasuna vs Real Betis Preview
Osasuna entertain Real Betis at El Sadar on Thursday as two sides who have been reasonably impressive so far this season meet. Betis perhaps don’t have the point tally that they may feel their performances have merited but they will be hoping to improve on that here against a competitive Osasuna side.
Jagoba Arrasate’s men come into the game after a 2-0 win in the derby against Alaves. Early goals from David Garcia and Roberto Torres settled the game in their favour and it’s just one defeat so far this term for Osasuna. That came in the shape of a surprisingly heavy 4-1 loss against Valencia in their last outing at El Sadar although it was a considerably more competitive game than the scoreline suggests.
Osasuna are fairly settled in the defensive areas of the pitch but it’s still a bit unclear as to what their best forward line is going to be. Kike Garcia has started all 5 games so far and looks like the favoured choice to lead the line. Record signing Ante Budimir has been restricted to just 88 minutes as a result but a midweek game may be the cue for the likes of Budimir, Chimy Avila and perhaps even summer signing Javier Ontiveros to get more of a look in, despite minor injury and fitness concerns.
Real Betis will also almost certainly rotate in some areas of the pitch although there wasn’t a lot wrong with their weekend performance. They created loads of chance and had the highest xG of any team on matchday 5. However it wasn’t enough for 3 points with Espanyol scoring a very late leveller to salvage a 2-2 draw from their trip to the Benito Villamarin.
6 points from 5 games may not sound like a brilliant start but Manuel Pellegrini will still be able to reflect on plenty of positives. One of those has been the form of youngster Rodri Sanchez. The 21 year old attacking midfielder has made a real breakthrough so far this term, starting 4 times in LaLiga ahead of a number of bigger names and he has repaid his manager’s faith with some assured displays.
Head to Head

Osasuna vs Real Betis Predictions
Score Prediction: Osasuna 1-1 Real Betis
This is a tough one to call. Betis are playing pretty well but still at times lack that killer instinct when it comes to finishing teams off when they are in the ascendancy. Osasuna are a tough nut to crack, particularly at El Sadar, and you fancy they will have enough to get a result from this.
