Friday’s early Segunda Division clash sees Leganes continue their push for promotion with an away game against relegation strugglers Cartagena. The visitors really are on a charge now and they will move 3rd even with a draw here but they’ll be hoping to keep their impressive winning streak going.
It was always going to be difficult for Cartagena on their return to this level after eight years in the Segunda B. The side from the Murcia region has been competitive but they are in the relegation zone heading into this weekend and it does look as though their fight for survival could go to the very wire this term.
They sank to a 2-0 defeat at Las Palmas last time out, after a decent run of 3 games without a defeat.
