Real Betis vs Granada Preview
Real Betis take on Granada in an Andalusian derby at the Benito Villamarin on Monday night in La Liga. These sides are amongst the few that don’t appear to have an awful amount left to play for as we head into the final 10 games. The visitors though might just start eyeing up an unlikely European push if they can pick up another victory here.
Betis kicked off the restart of LaLiga but did so in pretty disappointing fashion as they were defeated 2-0 by city rivals Sevilla. Only when they were two down did Betis really start to grow into the game and pose any kind of threat and it was a bit of an underwhelming display that only served to pile the pressure further on Rubi, who many expect to be dismissed this summer if not before.
On paper, Betis have a far superior squad to Granada yet they find themselves 8 points worse off. Diego Martinez has done an absolutely fabulous job, guiding the new boys past the 40 point mark on their return to the top flight with a large chunk of the season still to go. They came from behind on Friday to see off Getafe 2-1 at Los Carmenes although did benefit from a poor goalkeeping display from visiting keeper David Soria.
We can expect to see both sides make some changes to their starting elevens from their last games. Loren Moron was surprisingly left out at the RSP with Borja Iglesias leading the line for Betis but the former should return up top for the hosts here. Joaquin was another surprise absentee from the starting XI in that game but should get the nod four days on. Granada don’t have an enormous amount of strength in depth but may also opt to bring some fresh legs in for this one.

Real Betis vs Granada Predictions
Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw
With little to play for, you have to worry that Betis’ season is in danger of petering out and nothing about their showing in the Seville derby suggested otherwise. They have more than enough quality to win this game but it won’t be easy to break down a very well organised Granada side and the visitors may leave with a point.
