Leganes vs Levante predictions, H2H and match preview for this Monday’s game in La Liga. Read on for analysis, betting tips and predicted line-ups as two bottom half sides clash in Madrid.
DATE/TIME – Monday 4th March, 21:00 (Spanish Time)
STADIUM – Butarque
COMPETITION – La Liga
This Monday’s game features the two sides just above the bottom five, which looks like it may be starting to get cut adrift slightly. Victory for either Leganes or Levante here would give them a 10 point cushion on the relegation zone and they’d be looking very strong to go and secure safety.
Both sides look to have enough about them to stay afloat although they’ve found their success this season in very different ways. Levante have primarily been a counter-attacking side with the pace of Jose Luis Morales making them very dangerous opponents at times. However they have been a bit hit and miss this season. Defensively there are certainly vulnerabilities that Leganes will be looking to exploit.
The hosts have really found their feet after a shaky start to the new campaign. Crucially they have managed to turn Butarque into a real fortress. Only 1 of their 9 league defeats this term has been at home and they have gone toe to toe with the best of Spain in front of their own fans. They are direct at times but the recent signing of Martin Braithwaite has given them a fresh option up top and they are a bit more varied in their play than they get credit for.
With Youssef En-Nesyri suspended, Guido Carrillo will return to the starting line-up here alongside Braithwaite in attack. Carrillo was, perhaps apart from Greek defender Dimitrios Siovas, Lega’s most important player in the first half of the season so he can count himself a bit unlucky to be out of the team. Levante are also missing a key man here with Ruben Rochina suspended so both sides will have to make some tactical tweaks.
Leganes vs Levante Predictions
Score Prediction: 2-1 Leganes
Betting Tip: Leganes Win @ 1.95 with Spin Palace Sports (18+)
Levante are a strange team in that every now and then they put in these really impressive displays to get unlikely results. Their recent 4-1 win at Celta was an example of that. However Leganes are better defensively and unlike some sides will have no qualms about dropping deep without the ball, even though they are at home. That should help them limit the threat of Levante’s front two and Lega are offering enough at the other end to suggest they can edge this one.
