Barcelona vs Huesca prediction and match preview for this Sunday’s clash in La Liga. Read on for our analysis as the new boys head to Camp Nou.
DATE/TIME – Sunday 2nd September 18:30 (CEST)
STADIUM – Camp Nou, Barcelona
COMPETITION – La Liga
This fixture is one for the romantics. While they aren’t quite as small Eibar, only 50,000 people live in Huesca and it’s not really a town of serious football pedigree so the mere fact that SD Huesca will be stepping out in front of more than 50,000 at Camp Nou this weekend for a league game against Barcelona is pretty remarkable.
They have reason to travel with a degree of belief and optimism too. They’ve made a flying start to the season with 4 points from their opening 2 matches, both of which were away. They’ve scored a couple of cracking goals too and grabbed a dramatic point at San Mames late on last weekend. Clearly any sort of result would be a massive bonus here but with 4 points already they will be able to go into the international break content, knowing they still have all of their home matches to play with their stadium being redeveloped.
Barcelona meanwhile have already come through one scare against newly promoted opponents. They found life tough on a very dodgy Valladolid pitch last weekend and needed a VAR call to go in their favour in Stoppage Time to come away with all the points. However in a World Cup year, they will still be happy to start the new season with three competitive wins out of three and maximum points here would represent a very solid start to the season overall.
Barcelona vs Huesca Prediction
Betting Tips: Huesca +3.0 Asian Handicap
Score Prediction: 3-1 Barcelona
Huesca are massive underdogs as you might expect but there is reason to think, they can at least keep the score down. They’ve looked at home at this level so far and they will truly travel with no pressure or expectations which should free them. Unlike some teams, who are well versed at losing every season at the big Spanish grounds, their heads won’t drop if they fall behind and they will look to savour every moment.
Barcelona haven’t hit anything like top gear yet and going for Huesca +3.0 Asian Handicap could be the smart bet in this one. A home win is still highly likely but the Catalans have relatively rarely hammered teams under Ernesto Valverde and have more specialised in consistency and their ability to keep grinding out the wins.

Dembele has been given a real vote of confidence by Ernesto Valverde with starts in every game so far this season. He has scored the winner for Barca in 2 of those matches and should be a big influence here.
