Getafe vs Real Valladolid predictions and match preview for this Friday’s clash in La Liga. Read on for our analysis as the new boys target their first win of the season.
DATE/TIME – Friday 31st August 2018, 20:00 (CEST)
STADIUM – Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, Getafe
COMPETITION – La Liga
Real Valladolid find themselves in the difficult position of trying to deal with the demands of playing at a higher level and they need look no further than this Friday’s opponents Getafe for inspiration. The side from just South of Madrid excelled last term, nearly qualifying for Europe in their first season back in the top flight and they look capable of having another strong campaign this time around.
They’ll be pretty happy with a return of 3 points from 2 games so far given one of them was away to Real Madrid. They bounced back well and confidently saw off Eibar last Friday and there’s no reason why they can’t do likewise here. They still look like that gritty side, that made life difficult for all their opponents last term but they do appear to have a bit more quality in their ranks now after some fairly heavy recruitment over the summer.
As for Real Valladolid, it has been an eventful week or so for them. They find themselves in hot water with La Liga due to the shocking state of their pitch last weekend. It was cutting up badly from the first minute against Barcelona but it wasn’t enough of a leveller to prevent them going down to a 1-0 defeat.
Overall though, there have been plenty of more encouraging signs for Valladolid, which suggests they could make a game of this. They looked very organised against Barca and virtually negated the threat of Leo Messi while they have finally brought in some players of top flight quality. Enes Unal is a talented forward who impressed in that match while another loanee Daniele Verde should also add to their attacking threat.
Getafe vs Real Valladolid Predictions
Betting Tips: Under 2 Goal Line
Score Prediction: 1-0 Getafe
Valladolid are likely to stick with the approach that has seen them concede just one goal in their opening two league matches. Their philosophy appears to be one that puts solid foundations in place and they will hope that in time, their new-look attack will click. That might not take place here though against a side as strong defensively as Getafe and the hosts will fancy they can keep another clean sheet. Going forward they ought to have enough to edge it but another low-scoring Valladolid game looks likely.
