Levante vs Real Betis Preview
The opening game on Sunday in LaLiga comes from La Nucia as Levante and Real Betis lock horns. In truth, this is possibly the first match this season in the Spanish top flight that could truly be described as an ‘end of season’ affair with not a great deal left for either side to play for.
Levante are a point better off than their opponents on 38 points and there is now sufficient distance to the bottom three that neither side is in any danger of dropping down into the Segunda. Levante lost for the first time since the resumption last time out, with Atleti winning 1-0 at their temporary home but their level of performance has been strong overall with an excellent 3-1 win at Espanyol last weekend.
Real Betis played their first game since the sacking of Rubi in midweek. That was also against Espanyol and they won it 1-0 thanks to Marc Bartra’s goal. Interim boss Alexis Trujillo reverted back to a 3-4-3 formation which Betis have frequently employed in recent years and the switch paid off. Trujillo will see the remaining 7 games as a real chance for him to stake his claim for the job on a permanent basis.
This period will also give Paco Lopez a chance to experiment a little and maybe try one or two new things ahead of next season which will come around quickly with September the scheduled start date. He will have to cope without the suspended Nikola Vukcevic here while Emerson is banned for the visitors.

Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw
This one could go either way in truth with Betis having looked slightly better in midweek. On their own ground with fans in front of them, Levante would have been favourites but this strange situation with the Valencia club playing 150 km away from their usual ground is a leveller and a draw looks the more likely outcome here.
