2025 is shaping up to be an incredibly busy year for the defending Spanish and European champions. The Real Madrid schedule will see Los Blancos compete for at least five different trophies with the new FIFA Club World Cup set to take up a significant part of their summer.
Below, you’ll find the expected Real Madrid calendar as it looks today, although much will depend on how far they progress in the various competitions. Anyone hoping to catch Los Blancos in action will have options on at least three different continents, although getting Real Madrid home tickets is currently a difficult task, with very high demand for matches at the recently renovated Santiago Bernabeu.

January is usually a busy month for Spanish clubs, as they return from a short winter break to league and cup action. It will be exceptionally busy this term for Los Blancos, given there are also two Champions League matchdays to fit in alongside their regular league, Copa del Rey and Spanish Supercopa commitments.
The month starts with a Copa del Rey match, most likely away to a lower division side. They then jet off to Saudi Arabia for the Supercopa and won’t play their first league game of 2025 until the weekend of January 18th/19th. The month ends with Champions League games against Salzburg and Brest, as Carlo Ancelotti’s side target a place in the knockout stage.

Midweek of February 25th/26th* | Copa del Rey | Possible semi-final 1st leg |
Real Madrid could have anything between four and eight games in February, depending on their progress in the cups. The Copa del Rey has not tended to be a priority for them and that’s likely to be the case again this year given the packed schedule in 2025.
Carlo Ancelotti will also be hoping his side can secure a top eight finish in the new league phase of the UEFA Champions League, although early defeats to Lille and AC Milan, suggest they may need to negotiate a play-off tie in February 2025. Finish 9th to 16th in the league phase and they’d have home advantage at the Santiago Bernabeu in the 2nd Leg on either Tuesday February 18th or Wednesday February 19th.
As for LaLiga, the standout fixture in February sees Real Madrid host city rivals Atleti, while last season’s surprise title challengers Girona also visit later in the month.

Weekend of March 15th/16th | LaLiga | Villarreal vs Real Madrid |
Weekend of March 29th/30th | LaLiga | Real Madrid vs Leganes |

Should Real Madrid finish in the top eight in the league phase, they’ll be at home on either Tuesday March 11th or Wednesday March 12th for the second leg. If they progress via a knockout phase play-off in February, they’ll be at home on either Tuesday March 4th or Wednesday March 5th for the first leg.
In the league, tough trips to Real Betis and Villarreal await Los Blancos this month, while they have home derbies against local rivals Rayo Vallecano and Leganes.

In LaLiga, the title race should also be heating up by this point, and we’ll have hit matchday 33 by the time Los Blancos visit Getafe in late April.

Weekend of May 24th/25th | LaLiga | Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad |
Saturday May 31st* | UEFA Champions League | Possible final (Munich, Germany) |
May 2025 marks the conclusion of the Spanish and European seasons. Real Madrid travel to Barcelona on the weekend of May 10th/11th for what could be an enormous Clasico clash if the two teams are neck and neck at the top of LaLiga. There’s likely to be high demands to secure tickets for El Clasico, with the game expected to take place at Camp Nou following redevelopment work.
If the title race goes to the wire, Real Madrid may need a positive result at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on matchday 37, before their final game at home to Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid’s trip to Valencia in LaLiga, which was originally postponed due to the terrible floods in the Valencian region in 2024, will also be played at some point in 2025, but at the time of writing it has yet to be allocated a date.
Los Blancos will also be hoping to continue their current era of domination in the Champions League as they go gunning for a 16th title. Should they progress all the way to the final again, that would take them to Munich on the final day of the month.
June 2025 – The FIFA Club World Cup begins
Real Madrid are in the United States in June 2025 to take part in the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup which will feature 32 teams. The Spanish giants will be placed in a four team group when the draw takes place in Miami in December 2024. Their three group games will be in the second half of June with matches taking place in 11 cities across the United States.
Depending on the scheduling and their success in the group phase, Real Madrid may also play their round-of-16 game before the month is out.
July 2025 – The FIFA Club World Cup concludes
The controversial new format, sees the Club World Cup follow the same schedule as the actual World Cup, with the knockout phase consisting of 16 teams. Real Madrid will be bidding to reach the final that is pencilled in for the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday July 13th 2025.
Tickets for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States will be available via FIFA, most likely at some point in early 2025.
August 2025 – The new season begins
The 2025/26 European football season will formally commence on Wednesday August 13th with the UEFA Super Cup. Real Madrid are the holders of the competition after defeating Atalanta in 2024. They’ll get the chance to defend their crown should they win the 2024/25 Champions League.
LaLiga 2025/26 is expected to begin on the weekend of August 16th/17th, although the Spanish top flight may again opt to stagger the opening matchday so it’s played out between Thursday 14th and Monday 18th. There’s likely to be two or three more matchdays by the end of the month, although the full calendar has yet to be announced.
September 2025 – The Champions League returns
Assuming they finish in the top four in LaLiga 2024/25, which seems a safe bet, Real Madrid will start the new Champions League campaign in the midweek of September 16th-18th with their opening league phase match.
October 2025 – LaLiga reaches matchday 10
In recent years, October has often been the month of the first Clasico of the season, but there’s no guarantee that will be the case this year. LaLiga 2025/26 should be at least 10 matchdays old by the end of the month, with the table starting to take shape.
As for the Champions League, each team will have played three games in the league phase by the end of October.
November 2025 – Two more Champions League fixtures
There are Champions League matchdays on 4th/5th November and 25th/26th November as the giants of European football target a top eight finish in a competition which will follow the same format again in the 2025/26 season.
LaLiga will pause for the third international break of the season in November, but we’re likely to be 14 or 15 matches in by the end of the month.
December 2025 – A hectic year concludes
With Los Blancos potentially playing competitive football in every single month in 2025, it may end up being the busiest year in the club’s history in terms of the number of matches played.
There are no shortage of Real Madrid key dates in 2025, but their players would be forgiven for having half an eye on the weekend of 20th/21st December, which should be the final round of fixtures in LaLiga before a well earned winter break.
