Girona vs Atletico Madrid Preview
On Monday night Girona host Atlético Madrid in the Estadi Montilivi. Both teams are in decent form, and we should be in for an interesting match.
Girona have been good to watch this season. Head Coach Míchel has got his side playing well and they know how to stay in games and fight right up until the end. Win or lose, you can see the passion the players have for this club.
In their last outing, the Gironistes saw themselves 3-0 down before half time against relegation-threatened Getafe. Míchel’s side did claw two goals back in a great second half but couldn’t find an equaliser. Girona have scored eleven goals in their last three matches and will be hoping to add to that tally here. It will be a tough ask but you know that this side are capable of anything and will not give up until the final whistle.
Atlético Madrid are coming into this one after thumping Sevilla 6-1 in their last outing. Head Coach Diego Simeone overtook the late great Luis Aragonés as the coach to have taken charge of Atlético for the highest number of games.
That was his 613th game for the Rojiblancos and what a game it was. Simeone will be pleased that Memphis Depay bagged a brace and will be hoping he can build on that in this game. It is eight games unbeaten for his side now and going into this one, they will be confident of picking up all three points.
