Osasuna vs Getafe Preview
We head to El Sadar for the early kick off this Sunday. Osasuna are flying high after an excellent start to the season and hoping to put three more points on the board here against a Getafe side that has struggled badly away from home so far.
These are good times to be an Osasuna supporter with Jagoba Arrasate’s side showing signs that they may even be able to kick on and better recent mid-table finishes this season. They still have all the solid foundations that have served them so well in recent years but appear to have a few more options going forward this season.
Moi Gomez has already slotted into the starting eleven while Barcelona loanee Ez Abde is a genuinely exciting player capable of the unpredictable. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not he can find a regular role in this team, but for now he is a very useful impact player to have on the bench. The emergence of youngster Aimar Oroz and bright start from Chimy Avila have been other positives for Osasuna who were very comfortable in their 1-0 win at Almeria on Monday.
That’s not a description you could apply to Getafe this season but they did claim their first win last time out, seeing off Real Sociedad 2-1 at home. Enes Unal was on target again and looks to be building on what was something of a breakthrough campaign last term for the Turkish striker. He’s going to be key to everything Getafe do this season although Quique Sanchez Flores could do with a bit more from some of his other attacking players.
Chiefly though, the problems have been at the other end of the pitch this season which isn’t really like Getafe. They have conceded 12 goals in 5 matches with summer departures being felt while injuries haven’t helped their attempt to build a solid defensive base once more. The priority will be to keep things tight in what is a tricky fixture.
