Cadiz vs Barcelona Preview

Barcelona head to Andalusia this weekend looking to continue their bright start to the season against bottom club Cadiz. Xavi may consider rotation ahead of a crunch clash against Bayern Munich in the Champions League this coming week.
Cadiz are in big trouble already it feels. They’ve lost all four games so far without scoring a goal and they have conceded 10. A 3-0 defeat in Vigo last time out was the latest setback and they just look short on quality after a frustrating transfer window and an injury-ravaged start to the season.
They do have a few more players back now which should help them be a bit more competitive but they will be a team very low on confidence after two heavy defeats. Sergio will consider changes here with the likes of Alex Fernandez and Lucas Perez strong contenders to come in after they were only on the bench at Balaidos last weekend. Their coach is already under pressure and while he won’t be expected to get anything here, a return to former club Real Valladolid next Friday may be decisive in determining whether or not he makes it to the other side of the international break.
As for Barcelona, their bright start continued with the 5-1 demolition of Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League in midweek. Robert Lewandowski was on fire again with a hat-trick while Ousmane Dembele was outstanding once more, providing two excellent assists. Xavi deserves great credit for getting the best out of the Frenchman who had all too often misfired during his Barcelona career prior to this year.
The Barça coach has some decisions to make here in terms of just how strong he goes with an eye on the Bayern game. Cadiz will certainly be hoping the likes of Lewandowski and Pedri are rested but the Catalan side have such a strong squad now after their busy summer of recruitment and they have no significant injury problems right now either which is making it tough for Xavi to give everyone minutes.

Score Prediction: Cadiz 0-4 Barcelona
Cadiz are a mess right now and don’t seem to be offering very much at either end of the pitch. Barcelona can probably afford to rotate out a few of their senior stars and still win this game comfortably. The players that come in are all of a high standard anyway and will be eager to make an impression.
