Barcelona vs Real Valladolid Preview

After the fantastic friendly on Wednesday between Barcelona and Manchester City in support of ALS and former Barça player and Coach Juan Carlos Unzué, it is back to LaLiga action on Sunday as Barcelona host Real Valladolid in the Camp Nou.
It was all smiles on the Barça bench last week as Xavi’s side thumped Real Sociedad 4-1 in what was a really enjoyable game in the Reale Arena. A real end to end match in the first half was followed by a more controlled second half from the visitors. It only took one minute for newcomer and goal machine Robert Lewandowski to find the back of the net.
A Frenkie de Jong error helped Newcastle United bound Alexander Isak level things up. Then on came Ansu Fati who set up Osamane Dembele and Lewandowski for his second before getting one for himself. It was a thrilling display by the talented La Masia graduate. Confidence will be sky high going into this one. There is certainly that feel good factor around the Camp Nou now and Head Coach Xavi Hernández will want his side to be relentless in this one.
It has been a tricky start to the season for newly promoted Valladolid. A 3-0 loss at home in their opener was followed by a 1-1 draw away at Sevilla last week. Los Pucelanos took the lead with a superb solo run and finish from Moroccan midfielder Anuar Tuhami. However, a mistake from goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo let Karim Rekik pounce and get the equaliser.
A win would have really given Valladolid a confidence boost going into this game. Head Coach José Pacheta will know his side need to be at their absolute best if they want to get anything out of this. Staying in the game will be key and they need to make sure they don’t let things slip away early on.

Score Prediction: Barcelona 4-0 Real Valladolid
You have to go way back to 2003 to find the last time Real Valladolid got something in the Camp Nou, a goalless draw. They could get a goal here but it is hard to see Pacheta’s side outscoring Barça. It should be a very comfortable win for Barcelona and with the firepower at their disposal and we should see plenty of goals.
