The first game on Saturday comes from El Sadar and it features an Osasuna side that is bidding to make it two wins from two this season after victory on the opening weekend. They are up against a Cadiz side that is looking for their first points of the new campaign.

It wasn’t a flawless display from Osasuna last Friday but they will certainly take victory and three points against one of last season’s top four, even if it was a Sevilla side with many problems that they faced. Chimy Avila’s header and a penalty from youngster Aimar Oroz proved the difference in the game and the latter’s inclusion may be a sign of things to come this term after the 20 year old impressed with Osasuna B in the fourth tier last season.

While Jagoba Arrasate is at times a cautious coach, it shows he is willing to spring a surprise and put his faith in youth when the opportunity arises. He also handed a debut to summer signing Moi Gomez who might just be their most important player in this game as they look to break down a Cadiz side that will most likely sit deep and try to play on the break.

The visitors were dealing with quite a few injury issues heading into their opening fixture against Real Sociedad. They were beaten 1-0 by Take Kubo’s goal and that was largely a fair reflection on the game and it’s unlikely to be much easier here for the Andalusians who still have many absentees. They did brilliantly to stage a late escape last season but may quickly find themselves in the thick of a relegation battle again you sense.

They’ve made one signing this week which may help their cause with Antonio Blanco joining from Real Madrid to add to their midfield options. They’ve done some reasonable business this summer but nothing truly eye-catching and their survival prospects may ultimately depend largely on what kinds of seasons the newly promoted teams end up having as it’s hard to find three other clubs that they are likely to finish above.

Score Prediction: Osasuna 1-0 Cadiz

This most likely won’t be as open as Osasuna’s opening game which was end-to-end at times and regularly saw the woodwork rattled. Cadiz may sit deep and try to play on the break with Lucas Perez and Choco Lozano but Osasuna have just that little bit of extra quality which could settle this in their favour.
