Real Valladolid vs Real Madrid Preview
Real Madrid travel to Valladolid this weekend in LaLiga as Los Blancos bid to close the gap to neighbours Atleti in the title race. They trail by 6 points having played a game more but with Atleti starting to drop a few points, there may yet be a window of opportunity for Zinedine Zidane’s side providing they continue to take care of their own business.
Real Valladolid in theory shouldn’t provide the sternest of tests. This has been the least convincing of their three top flight seasons with Sergio struggling to find solutions in some areas of the pitch. They come into this game having taken just 3 points from their last 6 matches in LaLiga and in the relegation zone.
As has often been the case at the Jose Zorrilla, finding a regular scorer of goals has again been a problem. Shon Weissman and Marcos de Sousa are joint top scorers with just 3 apiece. The latter is injured while aside from a brace against Osasuna, Weissman has only netted in one other league game since arriving with a big reputation in the Austrian Bundesliga.
In truth, Real Madrid have similar problems with the exception of Karim Benzema who has netted 12 times in LaLiga but will be absent here. Holding midfielder Casemiro is actually their next highest scorer with 4 and if Real Valladolid can manage to avoid silly errors at the back, they ought to really fancy their chances of keeping this Madrid attack quiet.
With no Benzema, Hazard or Rodrygo, they will most likely have to go with Mariano leading the line here and Vini and Marco Asensio playing either side of him. None of those players have convinced this term and Los Blancos may be reliant on their experienced midfield for inspiration as they look to win this match.

Real Valladolid vs Real Madrid Predictions
Score Prediction: Real Valladolid 0-1 Real Madrid
In another fixture, Real Madrid would have struggled to get maximum points with their likely starting eleven here. However Real Valladolid do not convince at all, having taken just 1 point from their last 3 home games – vs Huesca, Elche and Valencia. A moment of quality from Luka Modric or Toni Kroos could be all it takes to settle this game.
