Real Betis vs Getafe predictions, H2H and match preview for this Sunday’s game in La Liga. Read on for analysis and predicted line-ups as both sides look to improve on slightly underwhelming starts.
Real Betis vs Getafe Preview
Real Betis take on Getafe in the late game this Sunday and it’s one that sees two sides who haven’t really been at their best yet meet. Betis did get their first points of the new campaign just before the international break to prevent any early pressure building on Rubi. Getafe meanwhile were left frustrated again and are still waiting for their first win of the new campaign.
They did win at the Benito Villamarin last season. That game saw the Betis fans really turn on coach Quique Setien for the first time and it marked the start of a poor run as Betis slid out of European contention. Rubi will be hoping he can forge a better bond with the Betis fans than his predecessor and another win here would certainly help him do that.
It’s a big week for Getafe coming up as they commence their Europa League campaign on Thursday against Trabzonspor. It’ll be interesting to see how much Jose Bordalas opts to rotate his side over the next few weeks when Getafe have a lot of matches. He does have quite a few older players who may struggle with two games per week and certainly up front we should see Jorge Molina, Jaime Mata and Enric Gallego interchange quite a bit.
Getafe have problems at left-back heading into this game with Vitorino Antunes and Mathias Olivera both struggling with injuries so they may have to field Raul Garcia there again. Betis boss Rubi meanwhile has a real dilemma up top. Borja Iglesias was signed to score the goals the likes of Loren Moron failed to get last term. However Moron has started the new season well with 3 goals in 3 games. Betis may move to a different formation or use Iglesias in a wider role here as a way to fit both players into this team.
Real Betis vs Getafe Predictions
Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw
Getafe haven’t been particularly convincing in the final third yet but they still look like the same team as last year at the other end and that will make it tough for Betis to open them up. The hosts may be favourites but it’s well worth noting that Getafe only lost 1 of their 16 away league games last season against opposition outside of the top three. They did draw a lot of those games but it’s still quite a record and they’ll probably be content to take a point here even if it will still leave them waiting for their first win of the new campaign.
Real Betis vs Getafe H2H
