21:00 – Almeria vs Alaves

AlmeriaAlaves
Win Probability37%34%

Almeria come into the match having competed really well against the top two teams in the league and this is a genuine chance for them to finally win a game. They are a bit short on attacking options though with Luis Suarez sustaining a fresh injury while Largie Ramazani is suspended.

Alaves are still missing Abdel Abqar with Morocco in AFCON Round of 16 action next week. Recent signing Carlos Vincente may start on the flank while it’s a toss-up between Kike Garcia and Samuel Omorodion for the striker role.

Predicted Almeria Lineup: Maximiano – Akieme, Chumi, Montes, Pubill – Edgar – Embarba, Lopy, Robertone, Arribas – Baptistao (4-1-4-1)

Coach: Gaizka Garitano

Predicted Alaves Lineup: Sivera – Javi Lopez, Duarte, Marin, Gorosabel – Blanco, Guevara – Vicente, Guridi, Rioja – Kike Garcia (4-2-3-1)

Coach: Luis Garcia

14:00 – Real Sociedad vs Rayo Vallecano

Real SociedadRayo Vallecano
Win Probability60%15%

Real Sociedad are without the suspended Mikel Merino for this game but they could hand a debut to new signing Javi Galan at left back with Kieran Tierney a doubt and Aihen Muñoz out for the rest of the season with an ACL tear. Ander Barrenetxea is also a doubt while Take Kubo is still on international duty.

Rayo are hampered by the suspension of Alvaro Garcia here. The winger is their top scorer with four goals and his absence should give Jorge De Frutos an opportunity on the left flank. Pathe Ciss and Bebe are still on AFCON duty.

Predicted Real Sociedad Lineup: Remiro – Galan, Le Normand, Zubeldia, Elustondo – Turrientes, Zubimendi, Brais Mendez – Oyarzabal, Sadiq, Becker (4-3-3)

Coach: Imanol Alguacil

Predicted Rayo Vallecano Lineup: Dimitrievski – Espino, Lejeune, Aridane, Balliu – Unai Lopez, Valentin – De Frutos, Trejo, Isi Palazon – Camello (4-2-3-1)

Coach: Francisco

16:15 – Las Palmas vs Real Madrid

Las PalmasReal Madrid
Win Probability14%66%

Las Palmas continue to be one of the season’s surprise packages and they may go with an unchanged eleven for the visit of Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti will have to shuffle his pack with Jude Bellingham suspended. That could see Brahim come into the side in an advanced midfield role but there are many different ways Real Madrid could go here with no injuries aside from the three long-term absentees (Courtois, Militao and Alaba). Andriy Lunin and Kepa have both made errors so far this year and the goalkeeper position may continue to be a source of debate on a game-by-game basis.

Predicted Las Palmas Lineup: Valles – Cardona, Marmol, Herzog, Alex Suarez – Kirian, Perrone, Muñoz – Moleiro, Sandro, Munir (4-3-3)

Coach: Garcia Pimienta

Predicted Real Madrid Lineup: Lunin – Mendy, Nacho, Rudiger, Carvajal – Kroos, Tchouameni, Valverde – Brahim – Vinicius, Rodrygo (4-3-1-2)

Coach: Carlo Ancelotti

18:30 – Barcelona vs Villarreal

BarcelonaVillarreal
Win Probability74%11%

Barcelona were sent packing from the Copa del Rey by Athletic in midweek and they ended that game with 17 year olds Pau Cubarsi and Hector Fort forming one side of the defence. With another league game on Wednesday, rotation is possible here with the likes of Frenkie De Jong, Ferran Torres and Ilkay Gundogan perhaps due a rest after playing 120 minutes three days ago. Alejandro Balde is the latest Barca injury but Joao Cancelo is fit again and should feature.

Villarreal are also short on numbers with Dani Parejo, Juan Foyth, Ramon Terrats, Yeremi Pino, Denis Suarez and Alfonso Pedraza sidelined due to injuries. New signing Goncalo Guedes is pushing for a start and Jose Luis Morales could also be an option if Marcelino seeks to play on the break with pace.

Predicted Barcelona Lineup: Peña – Cancelo, Cubarsi, Araujo, Kounde – Romeu, De Jong, Pedri – Felix, Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal (4-3-3)

Coach: Xavi

Predicted Villarreal Lineup: Jorgensen – Moreno, Cuenca, Bailly, Femenia – Baena, Coquelin, Comesana, Guedes – Sorloth, Gerard Moreno (4-4-2)

Coach: Marcelino

21:00 – Mallorca vs Real Betis

MallorcaReal Betis
Win Probability38%33%

Pablo Maffeo is Mallorca’s only absentee. Having been short on goals all season, they suddenly have plenty of options up front with Vedat Muriqi regaining fitness at a time when Cyle Larin has started to score goals with 3 in his last 4 in all competitions.

Nabil Fekir is edging closer to full fitness for Betis and it’s going to be interesting to see whether Manuel Pellegrini can fit both him and in-form Isco into the same team. He has plenty of selection headaches right now with three players away on AFCON duty while Guido Rodriguez, Ayoze Perez, Marc Bartra and Aitor Ruibal are still out injured. William Carvalho is a doubt while Luiz Henrique looks set to leave the club to join Botafogo with a future move to Lyon likely.

Predicted Mallorca Lineup: Rajkovic – Nastacic, Raillo, Valjent – Costa, Darder, Samu, Morlanes, Giovanni – Dani Rodriguez – Larin (3-5-1-1)

Coach: Javier Aguirre

Predicted Real Betis Lineup: Rui Silva – Miranda, Sokratis, Pezzella, Bellerin – Roca, Cardoso – Fekir, Isco, Assane – Willian Jose (4-2-3-1)

Coach: Manuel Pellegrini

14:00 – Celta Vigo vs Girona

Celta VigoGirona
Win Probability33%40%

Ivory Coast have a huge AFCON showdown with Senegal next Monday so Jonathan Bamba remains away but there are no fresh injuries following Celta’s Copa del Rey exit against Real Sociedad in midweek. There’s competition for places in a number of areas for Celta with Renato Tapia, Fran Beltran and Carlos Dotor fighting for two midfield places while Anastasios Douvikas continues to be mostly overlooked in the league.

Girona also exited the cup, but they could name their strongest league eleven for several weeks here with Aleix Garcia available after suspension while Eric Garcia is expected to be fit enough to take his place in defence.

Predicted Celta Vigo Lineup: Guaita – Manu Sanchez, Nuñez, Starfelt, Mingueza – De La Torre, Dotor, Tapia, Carles Perez – Aspas, Larsen (4-4-2)

Coach: Rafa Benitez

Predicted Girona Lineup: Gazzaniga – Miguel, Blind, Eric Garcia, Couto – Herrera, Aleix Garcia, Ivan Martin – Savio, Dovbyk, Tsygankov (4-3-3)

Coach: Michel

16:15 – Cadiz vs Athletic Club

CadizAthletic Club
Win Probability16%58%

Cadiz have a new boss with Sergio sacked and former Leganes boss Mauricio Pellegrino coming in. He’s a relatively defensively minded coach who has a big job on his hands here as he takes over the league’s lowest scorers. He’ll have to make do without Darwin Machis, Roger Marti, Luis Hernandez, Javi Hernandez and Fede San Emeterio initially.

After Ghana’s shock AFCON elimination, Iñaki Williams was hastily flown in to take part in Athletic’s Copa del Rey Quarter Final against Barcelona on Wednesday and he duly came off the bench to score the winner in Extra Time. We could see both Williams brothers start here with Alex Berenguer, who is also carrying a knock, likely to drop out despite his bright form over the previous fortnight.

Predicted Cadiz Lineup: Ledesma – Pires, Fali, Chust, Iza – Escalante, Alcaraz – Navarro, Alex, Alejo – Ramos (4-2-3-1)

Coach: Mauricio Pellegrino

Predicted Athletic Club Lineup: Simon – Yuri, Paredes, Vivian, Lekue – Vesga, Herrera – Nico Williams, Sancet, Iñaki Williams – Guruzeta (4-2-3-1)

Coach: Ernesto Valverde

18:30 – Sevilla vs Osasuna

SevillaOsasuna
Win Probability47%25%

Sevilla’s injury crisis has largely cleared up with Kike Salas, Dodi Lukebakio and Nemanja Gudelj the only men still out. They may again go with young forward Isaac Romero with Youssef En Nesyri still on AFCON duty.

Osasuna went 3-5-2 against Getafe last weekend. It’s possible that was a one-off ploy to deal with Getafe’s direct approach, but it may be the start of a shift for Jagoba Arrasate who hasn’t always got the best out of this team this year. If it’s a front two, Raul Garcia should partner Ante Budimir again with Chimy Avila still an injury doubt.

Predicted Sevilla Lineup: Nyland – Pedrosa, Marcao, Ramos, Bade, Juanlu – Rakitic, Soumare, Suso – Romero, Ocampos (5-3-2)

Coach: Quique Sanchez Flores

Predicted Osasuna Lineup: Herrera – Cruz, David Garcia, Catena – Peña, Ibanez, Muñoz, Moi Gomez, Areso – Raul Garcia, Budimir (3-5-2)

Coach: Jagoba Arrasate

21:00 – Atletico Madrid vs Valencia

Atletico MadridValencia
Win Probability65%14%

Atletico have claimed two slightly scrappy 1-0 wins this week already and we may see some light rotation here from Diego Simeone from the team that edged out Sevilla in the Copa del Rey.

Valencia are in form and Ruben Baraja will want to keep changes to a minimum but he is missing Sergi Canos to injury this weekend. Unless there’s a change in system, that may result in Fran Perez and Diego Lopez operating on the flanks and Roman Yaremchuk partnering Hugo Duro up top.

Predicted Atletico Madrid Lineup: Oblak – Hermoso, Witsel, Savic – Riquelme, Koke, De Paul, Saul, Llorente – Griezmann, Morata (3-5-2)

Coach: Diego Simeone

Predicted Valencia Lineup: Mamardashvili – Gaya, Gabriel Paulista, Mosquera, Foulquier – Fran Perez, Pepelu, Guillamon, Diego Lopez – Duro, Yaremchuk (4-4-2)

Coach: Ruben Baraja

21:00 – Getafe vs Granada

GetafeGranada
Win Probability54%19%

Just for a change, Getafe are hampered by suspensions with Luis Milla, Jose Angel Carmona and Damian Suarez missing the game for that reason. New signing Ilaix Moriba is in AFCON action for Guinea on Sunday so Djene should step into midfield here in Milla’s absence. Juanmi Latasa and the only recently fit again Enes Unal will battle for a start up top alongside top scorer Borja Mayoral.

Granada are also without two suspended players including striker Lucas Boye with Matias Arezo and Jose Callejon options to replace him. They’ve been a bit more solid defensively since signing goalkeeper Augusto Batalla and defender Bruno Mendez and the pair should continue here.

Predicted Getafe Lineup: Soria – Rico, Alderete, Gaston, Iglesias – Mata, Djene, Maksimovic, Greenwood – Latasa, Mayoral (4-4-2)

Coach: Jose Bordalas

Predicted Granada Lineup: Batalla – Neva, Miquel, Bruno Mendez, Ricard – Gumbau, Ruiz, Villar – Uzuni, Arezo, Bryan Zaragoza (4-3-3)

Coach: Alexander Medina
