Real Sociedad host Barcelona at the Reale Arena in the biggest game this weekend.

21:00 – Las Palmas vs Atletico Madrid

Las PalmasAtletico Madrid
Win Probability16%60%

Only Barcelona have enjoyed more possession than Las Palmas this season, but they rank 2nd last in terms of xG and it’s hard to see them turning time on the ball into chances against a Diego Simeone team. Atletico Madrid are going along nicely and with in-form Alvaro Morata alongside Antoine Griezmann in attack will expect to win this game.

Predicted Las Palmas Lineup: Valles – Cardona, Marmol, Saul Coco, Alex Suarez – Kirian Rodriguez, Perrone, Munoz – Munir, Kaba, Moleiro (4-3-3)

Predicted Atletico Madrid Lineup: Oblak – Hermoso, Witsel, Savic – Riquelme, De Paul, Koke, Barrios, Molina – Griezmann, Morata (3-5-2)

14:00 – Osasuna vs Girona

OsasunaGirona
Win Probability34%39%

This was a final day fixture last season when Osasuna pipped Girona to a place in Europe with a victory which saw Ante Budimir do the damage. The Catalans have been much the more impressive side since then but they look set to be without the influential David Lopez here as they return to El Sadar. There is little sign of the Girona bubble bursting just yet though with a fine late strike from Yangel Herrera seeing off Celta Vigo in Stoppage Time last time out to make it 9 wins from 11.

Predicted Osasuna Lineup: Herrera – Pena, David Garcia, Catena, Areso – Torro, Moncayola – Moi Gomez, Aimar Oroz, Avila – Budimir (4-2-3-1)

Predicted Girona Lineup: Gazzaniga – Miguel, Blind, Eric Garcia, Arnau Martinez – Aleix Garcia, Herrera – Savio, Ivan Martin, Couto – Dovbyk (4-3-3)

16:15 – Real Betis vs Mallorca

Real BetisMallorca
Win Probability50%22%

Betis’ season has taken many surprising twists with the likes of Willian Jose and Assane Diao breaking into the team and serving up much of the goal threat while Isco continues to shine. The former Real Madrid man scored a cracker late on to defeat Osasuna at the Benito Villamarin. Manuel Pellegrini’s team will fancy they can back that up with another win here against a Mallorca side that is awkward to play against but struggling to provide as much service to striker Vedat Muriqi as was the case last term.

Predicted Real Betis Lineup: Bravo – Miranda, Riad, Pezzella, Bellerin – Guido Rodriguez, Roca – Ayoze Perez, Isco, Assane – Willian Jose (4-2-3-1)

Predicted Mallorca Lineup: Rajkovic – Costa, Valjent, Nastacic, Giovanni – Mascarell – Samu, Antonio Sanchez, Dani Rodriguez – Prats, Muriqi (4-1-3-2)

18:30 – Celta Vigo vs Sevilla

Celta VigoSevilla
Win Probability37%35%

It’s 18th vs 14th here and both sides should really be higher up the league than that. Sevilla are searching for their first league win under Diego Alonso after they came from two down to draw at Cadiz last time out. As for Celta, it goes from bad to worse for Rafa Benitez whose return of 6 points from 11 games is very poor indeed and while some of their performances have been reasonably good, they offered almost nothing in attack at Girona last time out.

Predicted Celta Lineup: Guaita – Manu Sanchez, Nuñez, Starfelt, Mingueza – Bamba, De La Torre, Tapia, Carles Perez – Aspas, Larsen (4-4-2)

Predicted Sevilla Lineup: Nyland – Acuna, Bade, Gudelj, Navas – Sountare, Sow – Lukebakio, Rakitic, Ocampos – Mariano (4-2-3-1)

21:00 – Real Sociedad vs Barcelona

Real SociedadBarcelona
Win Probability30%43%

Barcelona were the better team for large periods of El Clasico but Jude Bellingham’s late intervention leaves them in a spot of bother with 4 points to make up on Real Madrid and a really tough fixture this weekend. Robert Lewandowski may return to the starting lineup here while Pedri and Jules Kounde could also play some part in the game as Xavi’s team nears full strength again. La Real meanwhile are in good shape fitness wise and have what feels like a really settled eleven with Kieran Tierney again their most notable absentee for this one.

Predicted Real Sociedad Lineup: Remiro – Aihen, Le Normand, Zubeldia, Traore – Merino, Zubimendi, Brais Mendez – Barrenetxea, Oyarzabal, Kubo (4-3-3)

Predicted Barcelona Lineup: Ter Stegen – Balde, Christensen, Araujo, Cancelo – Gundogan, Fermin, Gavi – Felix, Lewandowski, Ferran (4-3-3)

Sunday 5th November 2023

14:00 – Alaves vs Almeria

AlavesAlmeria
Win Probability54%21%

This is a big, big game at the bottom. Alaves will know these kinds of matches are going to be key to their survival prospects while with only 3 points so far, Almeria simply have to pull a result out of the bag somewhere if they’re to have any shot at retaining their top flight status this season. Gaizka Garitano has made a bad start with more sloppy defending contributing to a late defeat at home to Las Palmas last time out.

Predicted Alaves Lineup: Sivera – Duarte, Abqar, Sedlar, Gorosabel – Blanco, Guevara – Rioja, Guridi, Sola – Kike Garcia (4-2-3-1)

Predicted Almeria Lineup: Fernando – Akieme, Montes, Chumi, Pozo – Baba, Lopy – Embarba, Robertone, Ramazani – Baptistao (4-2-3-1)

16:15 – Valencia vs Granada

ValenciaGranada
Win Probability60%18%

Valencia will see this as another good chance to record a home win and overall, things are going slightly better than many expected under Ruben Baraja this season. They’re expected to be without the injured Hugo Duro here which should hand Roman Yaremchuk a chance to impress up front. He should get chances against a leaky Granada defence that has shipped 28 goals in 11 matches so far this season.

Predicted Valencia Lineup: Mamardashvili – Gaya, Gabriel, Mosquera, Correia – Pepelu, Guerra – Amallah, Diego Lopez, Fran Perez – Yaremchuk (4-2-3-1)

Predicted Granada Lineup: Ferreira – Neva, Miquel, Torrente, Ricard – Alvaro Fernandez, Gumbau, Villar, Bryan Zaragoza – Uzuni, Boye (4-4-2)

18:30 – Villarreal vs Athletic Club

VillarrealAthletic Club
Win Probability34%39%

This is a big game between two sides who have defensive issues. Villarreal could be without their first-choice full-backs which will add to what’s already been a poor start at the back, while Athletic are missing Yeray and could be without fellow centre-back Aitor Paredes too. They’re hoping Nico Williams can shake off a minor injury to feature in what should be a relatively open and even game.

Predicted Villarreal Lineup: Jorgensen – Alberto Moreno, Gabbia, Albiol, Altimira – Baena, Capoue, Parejo, Ilias – Sorloth, Gerard Moreno (3-4-3)

Predicted Athletic Club Lineup: Simon – Imanol, Paredes, Vivian, De Marcos – Dani Garcia, Ruiz de Galarreta – Nico Williams, Sancet, Iñaki Williams – Guruzeta (4-2-3-1)

21:00 – Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano

Real MadridRayo Vallecano
Win Probability75%9%

There’s a Madrid derby at the Santiago Bernabeu to round off Sunday’s action. Real Madrid are setting the pace at the top, albeit with a significant dependence on Jude Bellingham who is LaLiga’s top goalscorer with 10 goals after his Clasico brace. Bellingham didn’t play particularly well in that game before his goals but should spearhead the challenge here against a competitive Rayo Vallecano side that has gone 8 without defeat in all competitions.

Predicted Real Madrid Lineup: Kepa – Fran Garcia, Alaba, Rudiger, Carvajal – Kroos, Camavinga, Valverde – Bellingham – Vini Junior, Joselu (4-3-1-2)

Predicted Rayo Vallecano Lineup: Dimitrievski – Espino, Mumin, Lejeune, Balliu – Ciss, Valentin – Alvaro Garcia, Trejo, Isi Palazon – De Tomas (4-2-3-1)

Monday 6th November 2023

21:00 – Getafe vs Cadiz

GetafeCadiz
Win Probability52%19%

Monday’s action comes from the Coliseum where Getafe and Cadiz meet. The visitors are missing three players to suspension and they don’t tend to travel well at the best of times, so it’s an opportunity for the hosts who scored a club record 12 goals in the Copa del Rey in midweek with braces from Mason Greenwood and Borja Mayoral and a hat-trick from Oscar Rodriguez helping them see off minnows Tardienta.

Predicted Getafe Lineup: Soria – Rico, Alderete, Mitrovic, Iglesias – Greenwood, Djene, Maksimovic, Alena – Mayoral, Latasa (4-4-2)

Predicted Cadiz Lineup: Ledesma – Pires, Javi Hernandez, Mere, Iza Carcelen – Machis, Alcaraz, Escalante, Navarro – Ramos, Roger Marti (4-4-2)

Some familiar faces in our cap picks this week with defenders Chadi Riad and Eric Garcia back again with L15 averages of under 40 and all but guaranteed starts for their respective clubs.

Rodrigo Riquelme, fresh from a goal last weekend, also looks certain to play on the left for Atletico Madrid again and he’s an attractive option with a low L15.

In goal, David Soria looks the standout pick with a home game for Getafe against relatively low scoring Mallorca while we’re going with Vinicius Junior to lead the line again with his average still hampered by injury issues over the past few months which have limited his ability to contribute.

Full Team Stack: Kepa (50) | Alaba (53) | Bellingham (79) | Kroos (58) | Vinicius (50)

Real Madrid look the standout full team option in LaLiga on matchday 12. They’re at home to Rayo Vallecano which won’t be a walk in the park but after a free midweek, we should see Carlo Ancelotti name his strongest lineup.

There are a few doubts as to what exactly his best XI is though with the Clasico not providing many answers, particularly in attack where Rodrygo and Vinicius are struggling to form an effective strike partnership. The riskiest pick of the five players above is Toni Kroos, but the injury absence of Aurelien Tchouameni reduces the likelihood of the German international dropping out of the team.
