The LaLiga champions welcome Levante to the Santiago Bernabéu for the final fixture of matchday 36. Los Blancos are in a good position in terms of squad confidence, whereas Levante are eager to continue their decent run of form as they fight to prevent relegation.

A 40th minute Yannick Carrasco penalty handed Real their first league loss in five games at the weekend in the Madrid derby. It definitely wasn’t a bad performance by Los Blancos but a heavily rotated starting lineup failed to convert their chances to maintain their unbeaten streak.

In the press conference after the loss on Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti said “Vini, Benzema and Modric are starting next game. We need these games to get into rhythm for the UCL final.” These coming matches will be a conundrum for Ancelotti and his staff as they’ll want to rest players to decrease the chances of major injuries, as well as let fringe players gain some minutes and confidence, but at the same time the starting eleven must gain momentum and sharpness ahead of May 28th. It’ll be interesting to see how they manage the situation while taking these things into consideration.

Levante are constantly plotting their escape from the relegation zone and they recently came out victorious against a Real Sociedad team who are pursuing European football for next season on the opening game of matchday 35. José Luis Morales failed to further celebrate his 250th appearance for Levante after missing two one-on-one chances but Jorge Miramón and Gonzalo Melero gave the side from Valencia all three points.

Despite being in a relegation battle, they still play courageous and brave football, always hungry to attack and score goals. However, with this risk comes the dreaded punishment of conceding many chances and simultaneously goals. At the time of writing, Levante have conceded the most goals in the league (67) while being the 8th highest scorers, with 44 goals, which thoroughly supports the previous statement. Playing away at the Bernabéu is always a gruelling task, but the fervent Levante and their captain and leader Morales will not go down without a fight.

Real Madrid vs Levante Predictions

Score Prediction: Real Madrid 4-1 Levante

A strong Real Madrid XI will be too much for Levante to handle, especially at the Bernabéu after a Madrid derby loss and eager to regain match sharpness, chemistry and momentum ahead of the biggest game of their season. Levante have everything to lose on Thursday night and could have their relegation confirmed by the end of this game.
