Third place Sevilla welcome leaders Real Madrid to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in what could turn out to be the title decider with six matches still to be played for both teams after this. Though Real Madrid are firmly in control of this title race, it’s still mathematically possible for one of the other teams to snatch the title out of Los Blancos’ hands, although victory here would all but end any prospect of that.

A dramatic, but emphatic 4-2 win against Granada saw Julien Lopetegui’s team come out victorious for the first time in four games last time out. Though it took two goals in stoppage time, Sevilla were by far the more threatening side with 8 shots on target compared to Granada’s 5 and an xG of 2.86 to the Nazaríes’ 0.96.

Aside from that game, Sevilla have been struggling to score goals and simultaneously win games, but they do still have the best defensive record in the league having conceded 22 goals in 31 matches. The momentous central defensive partnership of Diego Carlos and Jules Koundé is playing a big part in their continued defensive solidity. Ultimately though, 12 draws isn’t good enough for a team that desires to win the LaLiga title and if they do fall short, the matches drawn will definitely be the main reason for their shortcoming.

Real Madrid are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League after another classic European night at the Bernabéu. Goals from Rodrygo and Karim Benzema gave Los Blancos the aggregate win, but it was the “never say die attitude” from all 11 players on the pitch and the supporters that stood out. Anticipate a team high on confidence and momentum, but struggling physically after 120 minutes of intense, end to end football against Chelsea on Tuesday.

The LaLiga leaders will be without two of their starters and key players in Casemiro and Ferland Mendy through suspension and injury respectively. Nacho will start at left back and a midfield trio of Fede Valverde, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric can be expected to start this game. Sevilla will definitely target the left side of Real’s defence with Lucas Ocampos and the ever present Jesus Navas on the overlap, but the veteran Spanish defender should be up for the task.

Sevilla vs Real Madrid Predictions

Score Prediction: Sevilla 0-2 Real Madrid

In front of their home crowd, Sevilla will definitely come out and take the game to Real Madrid, eager to bolster their slim remaining title hopes. However, this will play into the visitor’s hands as they’ll be lethal in their offensive transitions. With high confidence, high momentum, and their key players in devastating form, Los Merengues should come out victorious and continue building on their impressive winning streak in LaLiga.
