It was a pretty low-scoring weekend in LaLiga, at least until Barcelona got into the swing of things with a dominant display against Osasuna on Sunday. We had an important win for Elche in the big relegation six-pointer against struggling Granada while Sevilla’s title credentials took a further knock with a draw in Vallecas. Meanwhile their opponents only managed to create 0.11 xG, the lowest figure of any team in LaLiga this weekend.
There wasn’t a great deal of action in many of the other games with Real Sociedad the only other team to manage more than 2 xG, although Real Madrid did score 3 in their comfortable win at Mallorca on Monday night. Atletico Madrid were also victors but utterly unconvincing ones with only 0.66 xG against lowly Cadiz who competed very well at the Wanda Metropolitano and were unfortunate to lose 2-1.

It was Ousmane Dembele who completed the most key passes as the Frenchman continued his fine form with a couple of assists for the Catalan giants.
Elsewhere there were big numbers from Samuel Chukwueze who completed no fewer than 9 dribbles for Villarreal in their 1-0 home win over Celta Vigo, a match which also saw Kevin Vazquez set a matchday high of 6 interceptions.
The Mallorca-Real Madrid game also saw the home team’s forward Vedat Muriqi win 9 aerials while Pablo Maffeo won 10 tackles, both matchday highs but not enough to save the Balearic Islanders from a heavy defeat.
Sorare LaLiga Fantasy Team of the Week

It’s no surprise given some of the stats featured above, that four Barcelona players make the team of the week. Full-backs Jordi Alba and Dani Alves continue to roll back the years but the young guard is shining too with 17-year-old Gavi underlining his huge potential once more with a terrific display against Osasuna.
Vini Junior and Karim Benzema also linked up once more to great effect for Real Madrid who are now 10 points clear at the top and surely on course for the title. The other standout individual score came from a predictable source with Dani Parejo starring once more for Villarreal as they defeated Celta.
Sorare Player of the Week: Ousmane Dembele (98)
There were no perfect 100’s this week but Ousmane Dembele got mighty close. The Frenchman has quickly won many of the boo boys back around at Camp Nou with two assists helping him to score of 98 and the player of the week crown.
