Mallorca vs Real Madrid Preview
A rare Monday night fixture is coming for Real Madrid who travel to the Balearic Islands to take on Mallorca. The islanders will be looking to steer away from the relegation zone and Real will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Mallorca’s last result came in a thrilling 4-3 loss away at Balaidos to Celta Vigo. Luis Garcia’s side equalised three times in this match before Iago Aspas slotted home a 97th minute penalty to seal a brace. This result came as Mallorca’s fourth loss in a row.
The islanders enter this match only two points above the relegation zone after a rather inconsistent season and will be looking to upset Real Madrid and take all three points, something they were able to achieve in October 2019 when they defeated a Los Blancos side then managed by Zinedine Zidane by one goal to nil.
January signing Sergio Rico has failed to make any true impact in goal, although Real Madrid loan signing Take Kubo has impressed for Mallorca in recent weeks.
Los Merengues come into this match after enjoying one of their greatest European nights on Wednesday in a comeback win against French league leaders PSG. Real went in at half time 1-0 down (2-0 on aggregate) after a goal from Kylian Mbappe on the counter attack, however a quickfire hattrick from Karim Benzema carried Real Madrid through to the quarterfinals.
With an eight-point lead at the top of the table, Real Madrid’s focus may be leaning towards the Champions League with Los Blancos looking to steadily ride out the rest of their domestic season and bring Carlo Ancelotti the honour of becoming the first manager to win all of Europe’s top five leagues.
Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Thibaut Courtois have been in form as ever and Vinicius Jr seems to have gotten back into the groove he started the season off with after a few disappointing performances in December and January.

Mallorca vs Real Madrid Predictions
Score Prediction: Mallorca 0-2 Real Madrid
With four losses on the bounce, it looks unlikely that Mallorca will be able to remain competitive for ninety minutes against the LaLiga leaders. Real Madrid will feel confident of keeping another clean-sheet here and send a message to Barcelona ahead of next week’s Clasico.
