On Sunday the action will be in Galicia as Celta Vigo host Real Mallorca in the Estadio Abanca- Balaídos. Both teams need a win for their own reasons and as we approach the final months of the season the points become as crucial as ever.

Celta see themselves 10th in the table and have the European places in their sights. In their last outing they faced defending champions Atletico Madrid and were competing well up until Atleti defender Renan Lodi’s shot found the back of the net. Argentine goalkeeper Matias Dituro would have been disappointed to have conceded at his near post.

The score ended up 2-0 but could have been a lot more if it wasn’t for Dituro’s fine saves. Los Celestes are winless in their last three games but are unbeaten at home in their last four. Head Coach Eduardo Coudet will certainly fancy his team’s chances here and will hope to keep their chances of playing in Europe next year alive.

It has been a tough couple of weeks for Real Mallorca. Los Bermellones have lost three games on the bounce whilst only registering one goal. With the re-emergence of Levante and a rare win for Alaves, they see themselves only five points above the relegation places and with plenty of work to do as they bid for survival.

In their last outing in midweek, they were comfortably beaten at home by Real Sociedad 2-0. They were wasteful in front of goal with thirteen attempts but only one of those hit the target. Head Coach Luis García will know his side need to improve on that and quickly if they are not to get into a relegation dogfight. History could be on Mallorca’s side as they have gone seven games unbeaten when playing Celta winning three and drawing four.

Celta Vigo vs Mallorca Predictions

Score Prediction: Celta 3-1 Mallorca

Although Mallorca have a great record when facing Celta. Los Bermellones are leaking goals right now and don’t really look like scoring many. With the quality of players like Iago Aspas, Santa Mina and Brais Mendez, they will feed off the nervousness of the away defence and should cause trouble whenever they go forward. Celta should take the three points here.
