This weekend saw Rayo Vallecano’s dip in form continue as Osasuna raided Vallecas in a way no other team has managed this season. The Pamplona won outfit won 3-0 with a direct approach paying off as they recorded the lowest pass success rate in LaLiga this weekend at just 58%.
Real Madrid were the team with the highest percentage of successful passes but it didn’t do them much good as they drew 0-0 at Villarreal despite creating 2.11 xG which should have been enough to win them the match. Instead they saw their advantage on Sevilla at the top cut to 4 points as Julen Lopetegui’s team defeated Elche thanks to two Second Half goals on Friday night.
Another takeaway here is Real Sociedad’s impressive return of 3.44 xG in their 2-0 home win against Granada. The result makes it 5 games unbeaten in LaLiga for La Real who had fallen away quite badly during the end of 2021 and it was one of their best attacking displays of the campaign. Imanol will be hoping it’s a timely return to form with Europa League action and a Basque derby in Bilbao to come this week.

One man stands out this week in the individual stats and in truth he has been standing out all season. Nabil Fekir completed the most dribbles and joint most key passes of any player this weekend for Real Betis in their 4-2 win at bottom club Levante. He also bagged a couple of goals in an outstanding individual display.
It was also a notable weekend in that Gareth Bale got a rare start for Real Madrid. He managed to get 6 attempts at goal away too, the most in LaLiga on matchday 24, but none produced the breakthrough Los Blancos needed. Toni Kroos also set the high-mark for successful passes in that game while his midfield partner Casemiro was also heavily involved, winning 6 tackles, a joint matchday high alongside Marcos Acuna and Geoffrey Kondogbia.
Sorare LaLiga Fantasy Team of the Week
Perhaps the least balanced team of the week in the season to date, largely because there were few centre-backs who covered themselves in glory this week with Valencia’s Eray Cömert top scoring with just 68. As a result, we’ve had to shoehorn a couple of left-backs into the kind of back three that would only make sense in the weird world of fantasy football.
Further up the pitch, there were plenty of impressive displays though, particularly in the Betis midfield where William Carvalho and Edgar Gonzalez provided a strong basis for Nabil Fekir to work his magic. Mikel Oyarzabal and Raul De Tomas also put in big performances with 90+ scores and form the forward-line in our team of the week.
Sorare Player of the Week: Nabil Fekir (100)
No surprise to see Fekir be crowned player of the week with a combination of his goals, passing and dribbling abilities serving up a perfect score of 100.
Sorare is a Fantasy Football platform with one of the most advanced scoring matrices. All players are scored from 0-100 based on performance. You can read our latest Sorare content here to find out more about it.
