Mallorca vs Cadiz Preview

Mallorca are up against Cadiz this weekend in a crucial game at the bottom of LaLiga. The hosts have been sliding in recent weeks and defeat here would pile the pressure on for boss Luis Garcia. For all the good work he has done at this club, slipping into the relegation zone at this stage would ask big questions about his future.
That would be the outcome were Mallorca to slump to a fifth straight defeat in LaLiga here. The manner of some of those recent losses has also been concerning. 4-1 at Granada, 3-0 at Villarreal and most damagingly of all a 2-0 loss at 10-man Levante which gifted the previously winless bottom club their only success of the season to date.
Mallorca were also knocked out of the Copa del Rey in midweek, going down 1-0 at Rayo. Some may argue that that isn’t the end of the world given the relegation scrap they find themselves in but Garcia is still in the process of trying to find his strongest attacking combination and and a couple more games to work on that, as well as the feel good factor of a long cup run may not have been the worst thing.
Cadiz also exited the Copa del Rey at the Quarter-Final stage in the week, going down 2-1 at Valencia. The same points may be applied to them, although they have been building a bit of momentum in the league of late since the appointment of Sergio so they were perhaps less in need of distractions.
Unquestionably though, Cadiz’s plight is still a very serious one with their failure to win any home games this term putting pressure on them to deliver on the road. They have picked up three away wins including a crucial 2-0 victory at Levante a fortnight ago. If they can find another three points here, Sergio’s men will really start to believe and they have been bolstered by the January addition of Lucas Perez who should add some much needed attacking firepower.

Possible Lineups
Mallorca vs Cadiz Predictions
Score Prediction: Mallorca 0-1 Cadiz
These are worrying times for Mallorca who just can’t seem to find any real solutions in the final third and don’t look much like a cohesive unit in that area of the pitch with changes pretty much every week. Cadiz have found a bit of belief again since the coaching switch and Perez, who should start this game, appears a good fit up top. They may just nick another vital road win here.
