Read on for our LaLiga matchday 22 review featuring all the results, xG data, stats and team of the week.

Some striking team stats this week including Rayo Vallecano who had a ridiculous 29 shots without scoring against Athletic Club as their fine unbeaten start to the season in Vallecas ended with a 1-0 defeat. Elche by contrast had just 3 shots but scored 2 goals in their surprise draw at the Santiago Bernabeu. Remarkably Elche also scored with 2 of their 3 shots in a victory at Espanyol in their most recent away game on matchday 20.
Real Madrid created 3.83 xG in that game at the Bernabeu and would have left with mixed feelings to some extent, grateful to have got a result in a game they trailed 2-0 with 10 minutes to go but also most likely wondering how they failed to win that match, given the number of chances they created and the limited number of openings their opponents had.
In terms of quality in possession, high-flying Betis also stood out with a really high class performance as they won 4-1 at the RCDE Stadium, completing 89% of their passes in the game, a matchday high across LaLiga.

|Most Successful Tackles||GONZALO VERDU (Elche), OSCAR GIL (Espanyol) – 7|
|Most Interceptions||DANI VIVIAN (Athletic Club) – 6|
Real Sociedad were another team to be very dominant in posession this weekend, enjoying a 70% share of the ball against Getafe. Centre-back Robin Le Normand completed 100 passes, comfortably the most by any individual player in LaLiga this weekend. In terms of key passes, there was a clear standout performer from something of an unlikely source too with Ruben Garcia completing 8 key passes for Osasuna in their 2-0 win at Los Carmenes. That was 3 more than Granada’s team total and 6 more than any other player in the game managed.
Fans of the art of dribbling would have been happy with the viewing at the Wanda Metropolitano where Yannick Carrasco and Goncalo Guedes completed seven each, to set a joint matchday high. Joselu and Mathias Olivera did likewise for aerials won with Getafe’s Uruguayan left-back now regular competition for the Alaves front-man in that category, with Olivera also winning 11 aerial challenges on matchday 21.
Sorare LaLiga Fantasy Team of the Week
We had a fairly even spread of players from different leagues in the team of the week with no players from league leaders Real Madrid nor defending champions Atletico Madrid despite their dramatic 3-2 comeback win against Valencia.
The imperious Dani Parejo shone again for Villarreal with the second highest score of the matchday in their comfortable 3-0 win over Mallorca. Ruben Garcia also makes the LaLiga matchday 22 Best XI largely thanks to those 8 key passes for Osasuna while teammate and namesake David Garcia also features with the centre-back on the scoresheet for the Pamplona-based side.
Sorare Player of the Week: Nabil Fekir (100)
Iker Muniain is the only player in LaLiga to have created more chances than Nabil Fekir this season and the Betis man was on fire in Catalonia on matchday 22 with 31 successful final third passes, 9 penalty area entries and 2 assists helping him to the perfect 100 in his team’s 4-1 win.
