Sevilla vs Osasuna Preview
Osasuna are bidding to continue their hugely impressive start away from home when they travel to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan this weekend to face Sevilla. It’s the second tough test on the road this week for Jagoba Arrasate’s side and they’ll back themselves to take something from the game.
Sevilla fear nobody on home soil though and they have made a strong start overall with a solid return of 21 points from their opening 10 games. They were so close to improving on that and going top in midweek but were denied a Stoppage Time winner at Mallorca after Lucas Ocampos’ strike was ruled out for a handball ensuring the game ended 1-1.
Were it not for European distractions, you sense Sevilla would be genuine contenders for the title this season but they are also involved in a real battle just to get out of their Champions League group and that has forced Julen Lopetegui into a bit more domestic rotation than he might have liked. That was the case last weekend when they were uncharacteristically out of sorts out the back but still got all the points in an entertaining 5-3 win over Levante at the Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Sevilla still boast a 100% home record in LaLiga as a result but they are up against a team that is very comfortable on their travels right now. Osasuna won their opening 4 away matches before taking a point from their trip to the Bernabeu in midweek. They had to dig deep at times but a defensively sound showing ensured they left Madrid with a goalless draw.
It may be a big ask to expect them to put in another big effort in another tough away game so soon after that but Arrasate may look to his squad to bring in some fresh legs. Osasuna are only two points worse off than their opponents heading into this game and while it’ll be tough for them to keep pace with the big boys for the course of the season, a European push may not be an unrealistic target at all.

Sevilla vs Osasuna Predictions
Score Prediction: Sevilla 0-0 Osasuna
This isn’t likely to be anywhere near as entertaining as Sevilla’s last home game. Osasuna have shown numerous times in recent years that they are willing to employ very defensive tactics if the situation requires it and that could really frustrate a Sevilla side that keeps the ball very well but at times lacks a bit of spark to unlock a stubborn defence. Osasuna might just be capable of batting their way to another excellent away point.
