Real Madrid vs Osasuna Preview
Real Madrid are hoping to build on their Clasico win with another three points in LaLiga this week when Osasuna visit the Bernabeu. The Pamplona club have made a very bright start to the season, particularly on the road, so this may not be a walk in the park for Los Blancos.
The hosts do come into this in good spirits though following two impressive wins which suggest they are moving in the right direction under Carlo Ancelotti. They were 5-0 winners in the Champions League last week away to a Shakhtar Donetsk side that twice defeated them last term. Madrid then went to Camp Nou with an effective counter-attacking gameplan which delivered victory over their eternal rivals thanks to a splendid strike from David Alaba and a late goal from Lucas Vazquez.
While it’s perhaps too early to totally write Barcelona off, it does feel as though it will most likely be between the Madrid clubs for the title this term. The first Madrid derby comes in December but before then Los Blancos have a decent run of fixtures which should offer them the opportunity to go into that game with an advantage on their near neighbours.
Osasuna should not be completely written off here though. Jagoba Arrasate’s men are very happy travellers at the moment and boast LaLiga’s only 100% away record heading into this game. Victories at Cadiz, Alaves, Mallorca and Villarreal have given them a great platform to build from this season and they’d actually move above Real Madrid should they claim another road win here.
They would already be in the top four had they managed to better negotiate the final moments of their weekend home game against Granada. Ahead through Chimy Avila’s goal, but down to 10 men following Jose Angel’s red, Osasuna conceded a 90th minute leveller at El Sadar, a strike which denied them what would have been a 4th straight victory overall.

Real Madrid vs Osasuna Predictions
Score Prediction: Real Madrid 2-1 Osasuna
It’ll be interesting to see how Jagoba Arrasate goes about selecting his team here. They have another tough away game at Sevilla in just three days and there may be some temptation to rotate slightly but Osasuna do have a bit of depth these days and are still capable of competing. Madrid are also sure to make a few changes but on the back of a strong week, you have to fancy that they will end Osasuna’s impressive start on the road.
