Cadiz vs Valencia Preview
Valencia travel to the south coast of Spain on Saturday looking to get back to winning ways against Cadiz. Los Che made a bright start to life under Jose Bordalas but injury problems have helped to bring that to a halt and they will have some significant absentees again here.
Cadiz haven’t made the most convincing of starts but that key win at Celta Vigo means they are still in a better position than a number of sides after seven games. They will be expecting a tougher season than their first in the top flight with teams now more aware of what they do and it’ll be interesting to see whether Alvaro Cervera does try to develop a different system or style, at least a plan B.
They weren’t great last time out, falling to a 3-1 defeat away to new boys Rayo Vallecano but they did hold Barcelona to a 0-0 draw in their most recent home game. Perhaps their most impressive player so far has been new signing Tomas Alarcon with the Chilean international assuming set-piece taking duties and the addition of the 22 year old looks like a really good piece of business from Cadiz.
Valencia come into this game on 11 points from 7 games, sitting in 8th place. That may not sound a great achievement for a club of their stature but it marks an improvement on last season. The publication of LaLiga’s latest salary limits this week also highlights the limitations with which they are working under with their maximum salary allowance of 31 million Euros, the lowest in the Spanish top flight.
That highlights just how bad their financial situation really is and why they let so many key players leave in the summer of 2020. A bit like Barcelona, they’ve been left in a situation where their strongest XI is still relatively good but there isn’t much in reserve in some areas of the pitch. That problem has showcased itself in recent games with key men such as Carlos Soler and Jose Gaya carrying injuries.

Cadiz vs Valencia Predictions
Score Prediction: Cadiz 0-0 Valencia
With Maxi Gomez missing, Valencia are likely to play on the break with Goncalo Guedes and Marcos Andre up front and it feels like the sides may simply end up cancelling one another out. A scoreless draw looks a possibility if both defences avoid major errors.
