Levante vs Celta Vigo Preview
Levante and Celta Vigo meet in what may be one of the most watchable games this week in LaLiga. Both sides like to try and play attacking football but both have defensive flaws and vulnerabilities which could make this fun for the neutrals if not necessarily for the coaches involved.
Levante come into the game still waiting for their first win of the season. They have drawn four of their five games though so there is not really any sense that they are in any real trouble yet and Paco Lopez ought to be relatively relaxed about their plight. Their latest draw came in the form of a 1-1 at Elche at the weekend with Jose Luis Morales proving his worth to this team yet again with a 2nd Half equaliser.
With a trip to Camp Nou coming this weekend, Levante will still be really hungry to record their first win of the season here just to get that monkey off their back. In terms of their overall success this term, much may depend on whether they really can tighten up defensively. New signing Shkodran Mustafi came off the bench to feature for the final 9 minutes on Saturday and the German international may potentially make a first start here and it’ll be interesting to see what impact he can have on this defence.
Celta Vigo by contrast have bigger problems. Chacho Coudet impressed everybody in Spain last season with how he transformed this team and got the best out of the talents at his disposal. He has changed precious little this term and hasn’t really had any injury problems to deal with, but results and indeed performances have been vastly inferior so far.
The Galicians come into this game with just 1 point from 5 matches and the joint worst defensive record in LaLiga. Suddenly there is pressure on Coudet who looked to be as safe as any coach in Spain heading into the season. He left his regular wide players out on Friday with Franco Cervi and Augusto Solari both getting starts but Celta slumped to a 2-1 home defeat against Cadiz and there are those that will call for Coudet to change the system here and perhaps bring in another holding midfielder to give this side slightly more solid foundations.

Levante vs Celta Vigo Predictions
Score Prediction: Levante 3-2 Celta Vigo
This game looks certain to produce goals. Both sides have defensive vulnerabilities and we should see chances at both ends. Overall though, home advantage may just swing it in Levante’s favour with the visitors looking particularly out of sorts right now.
