Levante vs Cadiz Preview
Levante and Cadiz clash in the first match of the final weekend in LaLiga 2020/21. It’s very much just the appetizer for the main event on Saturday when the key battles will be decided at the top and bottom. Both teams though have reasons to be motivated here.
In Levante’s case, they go into the final matchday, with a chance of finishing as the top team in the city of Valencia for the first time. For a while, it looked almost certain they would manage that with Los Che struggling badly this term. However a poor run of form towards the end of the campaign has seen Levante slide and they have to win this match to stand a chance of finishing above their city rivals who they currently trail by 2 points.
Local pride aside, Paco Lopez will be disappointed by how this season has petered out. They’ve not been quite the same since suffering late heartbreak in the Copa del Rey Semi-Finals with a strong 2nd Half display in the 3-3 draw against Barcelona, the only really positive result in their last 7 games which have yielded only 2 points. They suffered a 2-1 defeat at struggling Getafe last time out.
As for Cadiz, they are aiming to secure their highest ever league finish. Their record high is 12th in the Primera – achieved in 1987-88 and they are in 12th place heading into the final matchday but with a real chance of going higher. Regardless of their final position, it has been a fabulous season for Alvaro Cervera’s side who were widely tipped to go straight back down having finally ended a long absence from the top tier.
They have just shown some signs that they are winding down towards the summer break in their last two games though. 3-2 and 3-1 defeats against Osasuna and Elche respectively suggest that minds may be starting to wander a touch but they are up against a team in a similar position to them here.

Predicted Cadiz Starting Lineup:
Gil – Espino, Mauro, Fali, Iza – Izquierdo, Mari, Jonsson, Sobrino – Negredo, Saponjic (4-4-2)
Levante vs Cadiz Prediction: 2-2 Draw
There may not be anything really important riding on this game but it could still be a watchable affair. There are normally a few goals whenever Levante play and Cadiz have been a bit more open in their last two games. With the pressure off, we should see some good football and we might end up with a score draw.
