Osasuna vs Cadiz Preview

Osasuna and Cadiz meet at El Sadar this Tuesday in what is one of the very few remaining games with nothing significant riding on it. Both sides are in safe mid-table positions and will already be turning an eye towards next season and thinking about how they can strengthen.
Both teams have set the bar quite high this term and their coaches deserve great credit. Osasuna were rocked by another serious injury to star striker Chimy Avila early on and have had many selection issues throughout the campaign. Jagoba Arrasate has done well to steady the ship and keep them well clear of the relegation scrap despite those challenges.
Avila is fit again and could potentially play 90 minutes for the first time this season here. They will most likely need to be in the market for a new forward this summer though. Top scorer Ante Budimir is on loan from Mallorca and you imagine will return to Son Moix next season with the Balearic Island team seemingly on course for promotion back to LaLiga.
Cadiz may also look for attacking reinforcements to help support veteran striker Alvaro Negredo who has top scored with 7 goals. He was rested at the weekend but Cadiz still emerged 2-1 victors over Huesca and they’ve done brilliantly to continue to find motivation even after having put themselves in a position where survival had already been all but secured.
The motivation now for this team may be to secure Cadiz’s best ever league finish, and they are currently on course to do that. Never before have they finished above 12th in the top flight. You have to go back to the early 1990’s for the last time they even avoided relegation at this level so this is a significant achievement for Alvaro Cervera and his team and it’ll be great to finally see fans back in the Ramon de Carranza next season.

Predicted Osasuna Starting Lineup:
Perez – Cruz, Garcia, Roncaglia, Vidal – Jony, Sanjurjo, Martinez, Garcia – Gallego, Avila (4-4-2)
Predicted Cadiz Starting Lineup:
Ledesma – Espino, Mauro, Alcala, Akapo – Perea, Garrido, Augusto, Sobrino – Lozano, Negredo (4-4-2)
Osasuna vs Cadiz Prediction: 2-1 Osasuna
There’s not a lot to choose between the sides and both coaches may see this as a chance to experiment a touch and try something new. Osasuna have won their last two at home but Cadiz have rediscovered some of that early season magic on the road of late. The visitors have some significant absentees here though and that may tilt it in Osasuna’s favour.
