Sabadell vs Mallorca Preview
On Monday evening we have second bottom vs second in La Liga SmartBank as Catalan side Sabadell host Real Mallorca in the Estadi Nova Creu Alta. Both sides are in need of a win for their own reasons and the way these sides set up, we could be in for an end to end game.
If you look at most of Sabadell’s matches this season you will find they dominate possession and create a lot of chances yet they see themselves back in the relegation zone. Head Coach Antonio Hidalgo has believed in his system and tries to play expansive football but it is the counter attacks that his side have struggled defending against that have cost his side vital points in recent matches.
Arlequinats have now one win in ten matches and if they don’t start picking up wins, they won’t be in this division much longer. In their last outing they drew 2-2 away at Fuenlabrada after going ahead from a great goal from Iosu Ozkoidi but bad defending once again cost them and they were lucky to snatch a point as Fuenla’s Cristobal put it in his own net late on to make the game even. Sabadell will create chances in this match but the question will be can they keep Mallorca out.
Mallorca seemed to have it all figured out and it looked like they were on the way to finishing as champions but their away form in recent weeks has been very poor and because of that they see themselves back in second and are now six points behind leaders Espanyol with a game more to play.
Promotion still looks very likely as third place Almería have also been dropping points. It was a shock 1-0 defeat for Los Bermellones in their last outing against Castellón in which in all fairness they should have picked up the win after registering eighteen goal attempts but couldn’t seem to find the back of the net. Head Coach Luis García will be looking for a reaction in this match from his players will expect them to pick up the win.
