Cadiz vs Real Betis Preview

There’s a derby clash in Andalusia this weekend as Cadiz and Real Betis face off. The visitors are one of the form teams in LaLiga right now and are starting to put together a really strong push for European qualification. They’ll fancy their chances here against a Cadiz side that is hovering just above the relegation scrap.
Cadiz did their survival prospects no harm at all, as they took an excellent point from their trip to Camp Nou last weekend. Former Real Madrid academy graduate Alex Fernandez fired home a late penalty as Alvaro Cervera’s side ended a four game losing streak in LaLiga by making it four points from their two games against Barca this season.
As impressive a feat as that is, they do need to start winning a few more of what in theory should be the more winnable games. Their recent slump has in part been the result of a really tough run of games which has seen them host a number of the top teams in quick succession but there have been some concerning displays, not least a 4-0 loss to Athletic Club in their most recent home game.
Over in the green and white half of Seville, there is an altogether more positive outlook all of a sudden. A decent Copa del Rey run has helped spark a bit of life into their league form with Betis winning 5 of their last 7 fixtures in LaLiga, losing only one. That’s a run that makes them one of the form teams in LaLiga and they will briefly at least climb into the top six if they win this match.
They are hampered though by the absences of Nabil Fekir and Borja Iglesias, two of their biggest attacking threats, with an injury to the latter a real setback for a player who has finally started to find his feet in Betis colours. That will mean much of their attacking threat here will have to come through Sergio Canales who is enjoying a fine season despite missing a penalty that ultimately wouldn’t prove costly in a 1-0 victory over Getafe last time out.

Cadiz vs Real Betis Predictions
LaLiga Expert Predicts: Cadiz 1-1 Real Betis
At full strength, Betis would have looked good to come here and win but with a few important players missing they may struggle to get all three points. Cadiz were dealt a much needed boost in Barcelona last time out and should take a bit more confidence into this game as a result. Against an in-form Betis side, a draw wouldn’t be the worst result for the hosts.
