Real Sociedad vs Cadiz Preview

Real Sociedad vs Cadiz preview

Real Sociedad entertain Cadiz in the early game on Sunday in LaLiga. La Real need to focus on getting their season back on track as a difficult winter rolls on and there is no better way of doing that than winning a few football matches.

It’s only 2 wins in 17 games in all competitions for La Real now. They are a far better team than that record suggests but they just seem to lack that special ingredient that allows the top sides to kill off matches. The killer touch in the final third has often been lacking, however Imanol will be encouraged by signs that Alexander Isak is returning to form with the young Swede having netted in each of his last 3 league appearances.

We’ve seen before with Isak, both in Spain and the Netherlands, that he is someone who can go on really hot streaks in front of goal when he starts scoring. He’s certainly a player to keep an eye on here while new signing Carlos Fernandez is also someone who could really bolster Real Sociedad’s ability to finish chances and kill off games.

It’s only one win in 10 matches in all competitions for Cadiz, not including a penalty shootout triumph against lower league Pontevedra in the Copa del Rey. They’ve conceded twice or more in all of their last four games and they aren’t travelling with as much belief now as they were during a stunning opening to their first season back at this level since the mid 2000’s.

Their last six road games in LaLiga have produced just two points and to some extent it feels as though teams have started to figure out how to better set up against them. Despite that, Cadiz are still well placed to secure their only goal this season – survival. With Alvaro Negredo rolling back the years in attack they should ask questions of La Real in this match.

Real Sociedad vs Cadiz Predictions

Score Prediction: Real Sociedad 3-1 Cadiz

It has been a really difficult few months for La Real but they are now out of two cup competitions and they’ve had a rare free midweek heading into this which will have done them the world of good. They played very well at the Ceramica last weekend and if Isak is on form again in the final third, they should be too strong for Cadiz in this match.
