Granada vs Celta Vigo Preview
Granada are competing well on three fronts this season, a remarkable achievement for a club in only their second year back at this level. They’ve established themselves as a really competitive side in the top half of this league and they’ll be favourites to beat a Celta Vigo side that has struggled a bit in recent weeks.
Diego Martinez’s Granada breezed into the last eight of the Copa del Rey for the second year running with a 6-0 win over Segunda B Navalcarnero in midweek. They will host Barcelona at Los Carmenes in the Quarter-Finals this coming week but will be hungry to put three league points on the board first.
If there has been a weakness for Granada this term, it has been the number of goals they are conceding. They’ve let in 34 in LaLiga, the joint worst record in the division along with Real Betis and it’s a slightly surprising stat for a team that has prided themselves on their ability to defend well as a unit and not give their opponents a chance to fully express themselves.
Celta Vigo on a good day, are capable of exploiting such defensive flaws. The problem for Chacho Coudet is there haven’t been many good days of late with four defeats and a draw from their last five games in all competitions. They at least stopped the rot with a 1-1 draw against Eibar last weekend and they could do with at least avoiding defeat here to stay firmly in the hunt for European football with Granada currently the team in 7th – most likely the final European place.
Crucially Celta have Iago Aspas fit again. For so long now, Aspas has often carried this team and they are a completely different beast when the Galician forward is fit and firing. With Denis Suarez also returning, Celta should be able to name a team that is close to the one that excelled during Coudet’s first month at the helm.

Granada vs Celta Vigo Predictions
Score Prediction: Granada 2-2 Celta Vigo
This ought to be an entertaining game with Celta back at full strength. They have sufficient quality to ask plenty of questions of this Granada defence and while Diego Martinez’s side have been strong at home, they may have to settle for a point here.
