Sevilla vs Cadiz Preview
There’s an Andalusian derby at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on Saturday in LaLiga. This is technically the start of the second half of the season, so the clubs have met before this term and Cadiz will be out for revenge having lost the reverse fixture.
Sevilla do still have a game in hand on most teams, so this is still only their 19th fixture but they are level on points with Villarreal in 4th place. They don’t look like a team that has quite enough to compete with the ‘big three’ even with neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid fully convincing. However Julen Lopetegui will be relatively content with how the season is panning out with Sevilla well placed to secure Champions League qualification again while they have two cups to target in the second half of the campaign.
Sevilla come into this one on the back of a 2-1 win at Alaves. That could have been a tough fixture with Abelardo returning to the Basque club but goals from En-Nesyri and Suso sealed maximum points and another solid away result. Despite the lack of fans, Sevilla’s average of 2 points per home game this term, is still pretty healthy and they will be firm favourites here.
Cadiz can’t be completely ruled out though. This is after all a team that won their first four away matches this season and while they’ve not won on the road since, they still boast LaLiga’s 6th best away record.
Just when it looked as though they might end up slipping back towards relegation danger, they’ve found a bit of form again too. Cadiz come into this unbeaten in 4 league games, although they have had a decent run of fixtures with that streak including home games against Alaves, Levante and Real Valladolid.

Sevilla vs Cadiz Predictions
Score Prediction: Sevilla 2-1 Cadiz
Local pride is at stake here and there are few things Cadiz fans would enjoy much more than an away win at Sevilla. The absence of Diego Carlos at the heart of the Sevilla defence, suggests Cadiz may pose a few problems and could get on the scoresheet. However overall this is still a Sevilla side that is just finding ways to win and they ought to do likewise here.
