There’s an important game in the bottom half of LaLiga on Tuesday night as Real Valladolid travel to the Estadio Ramon de Carranza. Cadiz made a terrific start on their return to the top flight but they head into this game following three straight defeats to nil and with the fear that it could yet turn into a long hard winter for the Andalusian side.

Survival was always going to be the only serious objective for Cadiz on their return to the top flight after 14 years away. Their early results were positive but this is still a team with its limitations and they will soon find themselves in the very thick of the relegation scrap if this losing streak continues much longer.

Their home form is also a bit of a worry. While they did stun Barcelona here, their other 6 home fixtures have yielded just 2 points. An out of form Getafe side came here and won earlier in the month and Alvaro Cervera is perhaps a bit uncertain as to just what is their best way of playing at home in matches such as this where there is greater emphasis on them to play on the front foot.

Real Valladolid may have only won once on the road but they’ll fancy their chances here you’d imagine. They were beaten convincingly at home by Barcelona last time out but had suffered just one defeat in six matches prior to that, a much needed upturn in form which pulled them off the bottom although they do remain in the relegation zone heading into this game.

Just a point would separate the sides if the visitors can pick up all three points here and that’s testament to just how tight the bottom half of this league is at the moment. Things can change very quickly for the better or worse and in the final reckoning, much will hinge on the results of fixtures such as this between two teams who may well be in and around the bottom six come May.

Team News

Jose Mari and Augusto Fernandez are nearing fitness for Cadiz but this game may still come too soon.

Joaquin Fernandez is fit again for the visitors who should be able to field their strongest eleven here, or very close to it.

Predicted Cadiz Starting Lineup:

Ledesma – Espino, Cala, Fali, Iza – Perea, Jonsson, Fernandez, Salvi – Lozano, Negredo (4-4-2)

Predicted Real Valladolid Starting Lineup:

Masip – Nacho, Bruno, Joaquin, Hervias – Plano, Alcaraz, Mesa, Orellana – Andre, Weissman (4-4-2)

Cadiz vs Real Valladolid Predictions

Score Prediction: Cadiz 1-1 Real Valladolid

Despite their strong start, there’s reason to be a bit fearful for Cadiz now. While they tactically did a job on Barcelona, they don’t really have the players to go out and dominate home games, even against other bottom half teams. Real Valladolid have been starting to find their feet and while performances haven’t been brilliant this season, they look to have a bit more in the final third this term and they ought to at least get a point from this.
