Huesca are back at El Alcoraz and targeting their second victory of the season on Tuesday night. They take on a Levante side that has chalked up a couple of recent wins to ease their relegation concerns and victory for the visitors here would propel them up towards mid-table.

This could be quite a good watch between two teams that like to pass the ball and generally play positive football. That hasn’t produced too many positive results for Huesca since their return to the top flight but Michel’s side did finally chalk up a victory in their last home game, a 1-0 triumph against Alaves.

Their tendency to let points slip late on in games did return last time out though. They appeared to be on their way to a solid draw at San Mames before 86th and 91st minute goals sealed a 2-0 win for Athletic. Only Real Betis have conceded more goals this season than Huesca and they are a little bit too easy to play against at times with a touch of naivety preventing them from climbing this league.

As for Levante, it does now seem as though they’ve turned things around with just 1 defeat in their last 8 league matches. That came away to Barcelona and was only a narrow 1-0 loss. Levante didn’t concede more than once in any of those 8 fixtures and it does seem as though they’ve found a formula which offers a bit more defensive security than they’ve had in recent years.

They were 2-1 winners at home to Real Sociedad last time out with Jorge De Frutos netting a late winner for the Valencian club. He is starting to look like a very good signing and at 23 years old should only improve the more he plays in this league and the more experience he builds.

Team News

Jorge Pulido is suspended for the hosts which should see Pablo Insua get a start at centre-back. Pablo Maffeo also picked up an injury last time out and will miss this game.

José Campaña and Enis Bardhi are still out for the visitors who have a doubt over Sergio Postigo.

Predicted Huesca Starting Lineup:

Fernandez – Galan, Siovas, Insua, Lopez – Ontiveros, Rico, Mosquera, Ferreiro – Okazaki, Mir (4-4-2)

Predicted Levante Starting Lineup:

Fernandez – Clerc, Pier, Vezo, Coke – Melero, Vukcevic, Malsa, De Frutos – Gomez, Roger (4-4-2)

Huesca vs Levante Predictions

Score Prediction: Huesca 1-1 Levante

It’s tough to pick a winner here. While Levante can be a bit inconsistent, especially on their travels, they have been tough to beat of late both home and away. It’s hard to see a Huesca side that has only won once all season getting the better of them and with both teams prone to drawing matches this season, this one could well end all square.
