Real Valladolid vs Osasuna Preview
The Friday night game in LaLiga sees Real Valladolid entertain Osasuna at the Jose Zorrilla. This isn’t exactly the mouthwatering fixture that will get people in the mood for a cracking Saturday of action in Spain but it’s an important game for the two teams involved with both currently languishing in the relegation zone.
Of the two, it’s certainly Real Valladolid who will take more momentum and belief into the game. They’ve had a decent month or so with 7 points from their last 4 games including back-to-back wins, their first victories of the season. They even performed pretty well away to Atletico Madrid last weekend before succumbing to two Second Half goals.
Sergio will feel as though he is starting to get the best out of his side again. A few summer comings and goings appeared to have unsettled things a bit but they have been offering a greater creative threat of late. One worry for the Real Valladolid boss is that his team are yet to keep a single clean sheet, not a great sign for a team that is never going to score a lot of goals.
Osasuna have been solid enough defensively, shutting the opposition out in over a third of their league games so far this season. However that has come at the cost of them seldom threatening the opposition goal. They’ve netted just once in their last four league outings and are the joint lowest scorers in the division.
They are bolstered by the return to fitness of Jonathan Calleri here. Osasuna fans will be hoping the Argentine striker can spark some life into their attacking play.

Real Valladolid may just finally get that elusive clean sheet here against an Osasuna side that isn’t offering much of an attacking threat. Sergio’s team will feel as though they have turned a corner now after a poor start to the season and this is a game they should just edge but it’s not likely to be pretty.
