Huesca vs Sevilla Preview
Sevilla make the long trip north to El Alcoraz on Saturday to take on LaLiga’s only remaining winless team. 10 games in, Huesca will be getting increasingly desperate to finally register that first win, however they won’t be panicking just yet as for the most part, they have shown they can compete at this level.
7 of those 10 matches ended in draws, including the last two against Eibar and Osasuna. They fell behind in both those matches but fought back to draw and there is clearly still a genuine sense of belief amongst Michel’s team.
However no matter who you are or what league you are in, an inability to win football matches will inevitably have a detrimental effect on morale in the end. They do have plenty of fixtures coming up where they will have a good chance of breaking their duck, but unless Sevilla have a real off day, this match is unlikely to be one of them.
Julen Lopetegui’s side secured progress in the Champions League in midweek with Munir netting a late winner against Krasnodar in Russia. As a result, the Sevilla boss will be in a stronger position to field what he perceives to be his best team in this match and other upcoming league games with the pressure off in Europe, a significant boost during this busy period in a congested season.
Sevilla come into this game having bounced back from three straight league defeats with wins over Osasuna and Celta Vigo in LaLiga. Suddenly their slow opening to the campaign doesn’t look quite so bad with the Andalusians up to 7th heading into the weekend, having played fewer games than all of the top six.

Sevilla look to have rediscovered their touch in front of goal with more players chipping in with a few now. That’s a positive sign, especially given last season’s top scorer Lucas Ocampos is yet to really fire this season. When he does, Sevilla ought to be well equipped to push on towards the top four and they look capable of getting the victory here which will help them on their way to that objective.
