The Friday night action in LaLiga comes from Pamplona and it marks the start of a busy period for Spanish club football with no international action now until the spring and no fortnight break over Christmas this season. It’s a big game for Huesca, who are LaLiga’s only winless side but they would still climb out of the relegation zone with a point here.

Osasuna head into this match following back-to-back defeats, however they were in tough games against Atletico Madrid and Sevilla. Prior to that they’d been getting the kind of results that suggest they will have enough to steer clear of the relegation zone this season although a lack of goals will be a slight concern for Jagoba Arrasate’s side.

They average just 0.88 per game and only two sides have registered fewer than their tally of 7 so far this season in LaLiga. The hope will be that summer signing Ante Budimir is going to be the man to provide that added firepower. Having excelled for Mallorca last season, his late arrival followed by a positive COVID test has made it tough for him to hit the ground running at El Sadar but he did register his first Osasuna goal in the defeat to Atleti and was also on target for Croatia during the international break.

Huesca have a similar problem in terms of putting the ball in the net. Their build-up play is if anything superior to that of Osasuna but their attractive style isn’t really delivering results and that will have provided Michel with plenty of food for thought over the fortnight break.

Following successive 4-1 away defeats against Real Madrid and Real Sociedad, Huesca would have been desperate to register their first win at home to Eibar last time out but were left frustrated by the Basques and had to settle for another draw despite the impressive Rafa Mir getting on the scoresheet.

Team News

The likes of Aridane Hernández and Jonathan Calleri remain sidelined through injury for the hosts. Ante Budimir and Enric Gallego are expected to form the front two.

Huesca aren’t expected to rock the boat too much. Shinji Okazaki is fit again but may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Predicted Huesca Starting Lineup:

Fernandez – Galan, Siovas, Insua, Lopez – Garcia, Mosquera, Rico, Ferreiro – Sandro, Mir (4-4-2)

Osasuna vs Huesca Predictions

Score Prediction: Osasuna 1-1 Huesca

Aside from those tough away games in Madrid and San Sebastian, Huesca have been very competitive in all their matches and probably should have picked up at least a couple of victories. They’re good enough to give Osasuna a really tough game here but the visitors just don’t seem to have the conviction required to turn draws into wins and this one could well end up all square too.
