Real Madrid vs Huesca Preview
Real Madrid are back in league action and they are bidding to avoid a third straight home defeat following a couple of very poor showings at the Estadio Di Stefano over the past fortnight. One of those losses was against Cadiz and they face newly promoted opposition again here with Huesca the visitors to the Spanish capital on Saturday lunch-time.
It has been a better week for Los Blancos though. They won the Clasico last weekend and certainly in the Second Half were good value for that success. However they were again staring down the barrel of a damaging defeat in Germany in midweek only for Karim Benzema and Casemiro to score to seal a vital Champions League point against Gladbach.
They are still under pressure in that competition though with just one point from two games so far and Zinedine Zidane will have one eye on Tuesday’s crunch clash with Inter Milan when he picks his eleven here.
Huesca are yet to win since returning to the top flight but Real Madrid cannot afford to underestimate the opposition like they have in recent home games. Michel’s men have played some good football at times and have drawn 5 of their 7 matches. Their worst half of the season came after the break last time out as they were blown away by an impressive Real Sociedad side who carved open the Huesca defence all too easily at times.

Dani Carvajal and Martin Odegaard are still out for Los Blancos who may rest some players with the Inter game in mind.
Mikel Rico is a doubt for Huesca following a positive COVID test. Injured forward Shinji Okazaki could also miss this one with Rafa Mir and Sandro likely to be preferred up top in any case.
