Granada vs Locomotive Tbilisi Preview
Granada are now two wins away from reaching the Europa League group stage. Having made their European debuts in successful fashion last week in Albania, they are back at Los Carmenes here for a game against Georgian side Locomotive Tbilisi. Again it’s a one-off match which will be decided on the night.
Diego Martinez’s side will be the clear favourites. The Granada boss named a very strong side last week against Teuta and his team put in a dominant performance with Yangel Herrera scoring twice in a 4-0 victory. A late 2-1 win over Alaves at the weekend means it has been the perfect start to the season for the Andalusians with three wins from three in all competitions so far.
Their opponents aren’t exactly European veterans either. Locomotive Tbilisi finished 4th in the Georgian top flight in 2019 to qualify for this competition for the first time in 14 years. They’d only won one previous European tie heading into the 2020/21 Europa League but they have surprisingly progressed to the 3rd Qualifying Round following victories over Romania’s Universitatea Craiova and Russian side Dynamo Moscow. Locomotive’s previous two ties were both at home though and it would be a huge shock if they went to Los Carmenes and got the better of Granada.
It’s a shame there won’t be a crowd inside the stadium for this historic occasion of Granada’s first ever European home game. Sadly Granada may have to go all the way to the knockout rounds if their fans are going to get a chance to be a real part of this story, with cases of COVID-19 continuing to rise in Spain and in many other parts of Europe.

Granada vs Locomotive Tbilisi Predictions
Score Prediction: 3-0 Granada
Granada have been really impressive so far this season and they look to have managed to keep that momentum going from the back end of the 2019/20 campaign. Tiredness and fatigue may become a factor later in the season but they should still be quite fresh and with Martinez expected to name another strong team, Granada should have far too much for the Georgian team.
