Albacete will be welcoming Ponferradina this weekend at the Carlos Belmonte. This should be an interesting match with both teams losing on the opening day of the season and both coaches will be looking for a quick turnaround of events.
Albacete were completely outplayed against a very good looking Espanyol team. They did have a better second half and created some chances but in terms of quality Espanyol were far superior. They will move on from that now and hope to start the season with a victory over Ponferradina.
This week they have brought back Chema Núñez and also brought in Javi Navarro to strengthen Lucas Alcaraz’s side. Albacete know that if they want that top half finish they have to make the Carlos Belmonte a fortress and it’s vital to have a strong home record which wasn’t the case at all last season.
Ponferradina also were outclassed at the weekend by newcomers Castellon. They narrowly avoided relegation last season and coming into this year, it is looking like they will be battling again to avoid the drop. They have also made a signing this week in bringing back Pablo Valcarce to strengthen Bolo’s side. It could be a long tough season for Ponferradina although a win this weekend would be a significant boost to morale.

They know they played well in the second half last weekend and if they take their chances this time around then they should be able to record a victory.
