Huesca vs Numancia Preview
As the matchday 41 fixtures get well underway, second placed Huesca will be looking to further enhance their promotion credentials as they host a Numancia side who sit just one point above the relegation places.
Michel’s hosts have enjoyed a strong 2019/20 campaign, picking up a respectable 19 wins in 40 games which has ultimately helped the Azulgranas gain at least a play-off place and sit second in the league table as things stand.
That being said, Huesca’s form has not been great over the last week or so, losing two out of three games, whilst picking up a win against Alcorcon last week. In fact, the home side have just three wins from their last eight and they will be targeting a victory here which could see them claim automatic promotion on the night if results go their way elsewhere.
Michel can rely on a fairly fit group of players to select from which include former English Premier League winner Shinki Okazaki and the excellent David Ferreiro, who has nine assists in the league so far.
Luis Carrion’s visitors will be looking to secure three points after the win against Ponferradina last week and the 41-year-old coach can not be expected to make many changes to his starting eleven seeing goalscorer Igor Zlatanovic remain as the sole frontman.
Zlatanovic scored the only goal of the game in that win last week over Ponferradina, netting his first of the season in a result which was the third win for the Castile and León based football club since the restart.

Score Prediction: 2-1 Numancia
There is a huge amount riding on this game for both sides and both will be expecting to be involved in a good battle for all three points. The home side’s play-off place has been secured but with the likes of Almeria and Real Zaragoza behind them, a defeat could see them relinquish the vital second automatic promotion place.
Whilst the home team have been the far the better side over the course of the season, the pressure does look to be getting to them as defeat against bottom club Racing last time out proved. An away win would certainly spice things up at both ends of the table heading into the final matchday of the league campaign.
